How often do you go to the cinema?

I go once in a while, like an event. 2003 to see Return of the King then that was it until 2007 when i went to see Hot Fuzz and Norbit and went again this year to see Avatar. So maybe once or twice every 3 years.

I would love to go more often, despite the experience often being ruined by people talking, eating and generally messing about - but there simply aren't enough new films coming out that take my fancy.

The last one I saw was the extremely disappointing (not to mention a waste of almost 30 quid) '44 Inch Chest'. The lastest one I want to see is 'Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll', being a fan of Ian Dury.

In the past I went more than 2 times in a month to the cinema. But today it is to expensive for me.
The other point is that I like it more to watch the movies on my Blu-Ray player at home in a better quality.

TRUE , HOWEVER AS THE CINEMAS IN SCOTLAND ARE NOT AS BIG AS THE ONES IN LONDON , YOU HAVE TO GO IN TO THE HALL PRIOR TOTHE ADVERTS AND TRAILERS OR YOU RUN THE RISK OF NOT GETTING A DECENT SEAT , THE LAST THING YOU WANT IS TO SIT IN THE FRONT ROW AND GO HOME HOE WITH A SORE NECK

Been about 40 times. Unlimited card + being within travelling distance of 10 different Cineworld = lots of interesting films to see.

Favourite films from 2010, so far: How to Train your Dragon, The Infidel, Cemetery Junction, Invictus

ahhh that sucks i prefer odeon not big on cineworld at all. at my local one it really is pot luck. The actual screen size can vary from ok to really tiny i have never had a large screen size. And the audio can sometimes be dire.

Last film I saw in the cinema was Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. I just can't handle cinemas. People talking, fidgeting, chomping on popcorn, slurping on drinks, etc. Drives me nuts. At the Indiana Jones film, I had a kid sitting next to me who had seen the film before and was telling his mate throughout that "this is a really good bit", "he's going to do this", etc. I finally had enough and told him to shut up, since he was spoiling it for others (me!). I am such a grumpy sod!

In Jan-May I would go 3-5 times a month, loaRAB of good stuff out at the moment with Oscar build up.
I perfer independent and foreign films so find it difficult to find anything to go to in the Summer when it is all blockbuster superhero stuff. On average anout 20-25 times a year.

Atleast once a week, but upto 8 times a month if theres a fair few decent films out.

This year I've seen Avatar, Alice, Book of Eli, Cemetary Junction, Up in the Air, How to Train Your Dragon, Clash of the Titans, The Ghost Writer, Shutter Island, Kick Ass, Ponyo and probably others I've forgotten to mention...so yeah does work out to about 1 a week. Probably get busier as all the summer films come out.

I think most of people complaints about the cinema are their own fault.
Too expensive? Buying popcorn is a waste of money but your own choice. And of course many cinemas are cheap on Tuesdays and have Orange Wednesday. Be smart.
And as for the crowRAB being bad, they can be, but avoid going at peak hours and you should be fine in most cases.

Until recently, I hadn't gone for about three years, as I'd rather sit and home and enjoy Blu-ray

That said, what tempted me back, yes, Avatar in 3D

I've seen 28 films so far this year, with 4 more planned over the next 4 days.
This time last year I had seen 27 films, so doing good!
