I was about 30 minutes into Italy coming south over St. Gotthard's approaching a relatively small town, 2 up on a bmw r1200rt that had lost the abs modulator - no abs. You could tell the difference in driving mentality in the south of Switzerland. By the time we got to the first couple of small towns we'd been buzzed by several scooters, and we weren't dawdling by any stretch.
The words "free for all" come to mind. I forget the town, but they had 'stacked roundabouts' - one almost right after the other. The GPS had me going straight, so I barely broke right / left to keep my momentum. A scooter rider did the Rossi/show the front wheel trick on us, over the cobblestone center of the roundabout.
The wife hit the switch on the intercom, and asked if I saw that . They had no room, I was all the way on the inside, and they backed off. There was no immediate pass, so like I said - we weren't dawdling...
