i started taking voice lessons when i was 15... my dream is to be a singer for a post-hardcore rock band... anyways, before i took lessons i'd yell as high and as loud as i could to reach the notes which was a horrible mistake haha... anyways it's been about a year and i'm depressed because i'm not where i'd like to be right now. I have improved a lot (learning how to sing in hte mix), but it's not to the point where i can just sing on stage... right now i'm singing na na na's and practicing meow's lol... apparently it helps close the vocal folds and thin them out. ANYHOW, i can't say i've been the best at practicing so i'm starting to get more serious about cuz... i'm 16!!! i don't have much time. How often are you supposed to practice singing? especially if your trying to learn the mix?
*if you don't know what the mix is, it's basically.... google it haha, it's hard to explain. but my guess is making your head voice more whiny and strong so it sounds like your belting and singing pop/rock/r&b instead of opera.
