Hey all..
I just went to the Bell store and signed up for a bundle.... long story short.. ended up agreeing to phone and internet and TV for a price quoted by the sales rep. HOWEVER... to sign up for it all... I get no paper work about the prices he quoted.. all he did was give me the internet box... and the expressVu package... and says that he set up the install date for the TV. No where did i get any papers quoting me the price we agreed on or the channels i'm subscribing to. So.. how is this all done?

We agreed on the following terms in store: Digital BASIC for 23$/month, +10$/month for 4 HD theme packs + 10$/month for HD receiver rental - 10$/month credit. So TV comes to 33$/month.
How do i make sure I get this price that he quoted me?? Do i do this with the technician?

He also gave me 3 months free internet service.... also don't know how to make sure I get these rebates.

any help is greatly appreciative! THANKS!

Welcome to hell err Bell - you don't have what you agreed to on paper, there's a very good chance you're going to get something entirely different and have a fight on your hands.

That does not sound correct. IIRC, Digital Basic is $32 plus a $3 "Service Access Fee" (something they rarely disclose until after it's too late.) Also, it's unlikely you will get all the channels in the HD theme packs without subscribing to several SD theme packs. Also, Bell rarely backs down on such mistakes by it's employees (without proof) and will hold you to a 2 year contract. I could be wrong but I think you are in for a nasty surprise.

wow.. i was not told this my the CSR at the store.
so is it basically useless to add the 4 HD theme packs for 10$ since I probably don't even have the SD channels for them????

Yea CSR at store doesnt have any power to give you that, you gotta go thru with installer, when hes done. so basically you need to have SD channels in order to have HD channels. But if you call Bell and bitch about it few times maybe they will give u something? i dunno, you could try :P

The French packages are a bit different from the English packages. The sports HD channels, National Geographic HD and Showcase HD all depend on subscribing to the SD channels. Some people get stuck paying $15 for 3 HD themes because they don't qualify for 4 HD themes at $10 (due to their SD theme pack choices.) Go figure.

Bell's packages and pricing can be very confusing, even for their CSRs.

The programming will be added by the CSR who will proceed the activation of your receiver. It is usually the technician who calls in, gives the receiver and smartcard number to the agent, then pass you the phone to discuss programming. If he does his job well he is supposed to let you know in his recap at the end of the call the total amount your next bill will be

As stated previously some HD channels requires suscribtion to the SD theme for you to get them. To get the French HD channels you only need to suscribe to the SD version of it, and the HD comes FREE OF CHARGE.
To get TSN HD you need to suscribe to Sports 1 (8$/month if you have less than 5 theme packs or 5$/month if you have more than 5)
To get Raptors TV HD you need to suscribe to the SD feed (2.50$ in pick and pay)

The French base (unless there was an increase I didn't notice in January) is 26$. Some of the channels included in Digital Standard, such as ABC, NBC, PBS, CBS and FOX are not included in the French base. French base suscribers that would like to have those channels have to take Networks for 8$/month if they have less than 5 theme packs or 5$/month if they have more than 5 theme packs. Some other channels, like Treehouse TV, W networks and a few others won't be included in your French base. You can get those by getting Partout au Canada for an extra 3$/month
Also, if you have the 4 French SD theme packs AND an English SD theme pack you could get the Network FREE OF CHARGE

If you choose to take the English base (32$) you would only get the TQS feed of Rivi

ok.. now i hate BELL.. how do i cancel this crap?
I was TOLD my the damn CSR... I will get Digital Basic (23$) and then I can add 4 HD theme packs for (10$/month) and will rent the receiver for 10$/month and he will give me a discount of 10$/month. This is for a 2 year contract.
The 4HD theme packs i wanted were: HD SPORTS, More HD Sports, HD VARIETY, More HD Variety. http://www.bell.ca/shopping/PrsShpTv_Programming.page (i have the brochure that is downloadable from this site)
He said nothing about subscribing to the SD channels!!
I even had to pay 100$ deposit for this... that I'm "SUPPOSED" to get back.

hey EXagent... i took a look at that link... but i think that's only available for the FRENCH side.. The agent asked me specifically if i wanted english or french.. i said english.
ahhh... i hate dealing with CSRs!!

Val23 to cancel call 1-888-SKY-DISH

You will receive a check in the 3-6 weeks following your cancellation or you will see a 100$ + tax refund on your one bill in the next 3-6 weeks

val23, of course we can believe it. The horror stories people post of dealing with Bell TV and Bell Internet customer service speak for themselves.

Not anymore, the Techs have no idea what the Customer and CSR talk about on the phone, so it is up to the Customer to take notes during that conversation. The Tech has no idea what the programming packages or costs are associated with the account.

rule number 1 about buying anything. if it gives you headaches the day after you bought/signed up for it then return/cancel it

Pinza I was talking about the CSR on the phone that will do the activation. At the end of the call, if he follows the quality grid script he is supposed to do a recap. It 's supposed to sound like:"Today you call us to activate your receivers, which we did, you will have all your channels within 15min-2h, your next bill will be XXX$.

Val23, Read that package: http://www.bell.ca/shopping/fr_CA_QC.info/AIO_HD_EssentialsPlusFr.details?selectedtab=0#tab0
It sounds like what the agent told you, exempt the theme pack are SD from what I understand, not HD

You will also get an additionnal 5$ credit since you will have a bundle

and already.. have a few problems...
Firstly.. when i spoke with the CSR on the phone to add my programming... i asked her twice about RaptorsHD... she said all I needed was to get Sports1 to get Raptors TV... and then the Sports HD theme pack to get it in HD. But in the brochure.. Raptors TV is part of Sports2... so i asked her if i needed to get sports 2... she went to ask someone.. and came back on the phone.. and said.. nope.. it's included in Sports1. SO OBviously... after we hung up... i try to watch the Raptors TV channel.. and it says i'm not subscribed to it.

Next.. none of the Sportsnet channels work! I choose them.. and all i get is a black screen... is it something wrong on my end?

other channels work well.. except that some of the HD channels don't even broadcast in HD... is this normal?

Alright.. sorry for my long post... i hope someone can give me some more insight... kinda new at this. THANKS!

shouldnt he get two $5 credits since he has a bell bundle with tv AND internet?

that's the only way I can think of the $10 credit.

so i mean, pretty much everything is right except he didn't tell you you needed SD versions of the channels to even get it in HD

yeah.. thanks so much for the info everyone...
I'm actually going to head out to the Bell store and talk with the CSR (if he's there). he wrote out all the prices on a piece of paper... so either he honors it.. or i'm cancelling this. Can you believe it? Before even starting.. i'm already getting headaches!

Raptors you need SD $8 sports 2 or pick and pay $2.50 Raptors from SD sports 2
You should get two of the sports net channel's 851,852 the other two I've never seen anything on them, even when there is supposed to be. There changing channel #'s on March 4
Even though it's an HD channel the programs are not all available in HD. Sometimes even when it's in HD the quality is questionable.
As far as BELL customer service knowledge, you know way more.
