How do you see all people as equal but still maintain your culture?

I thought about his earlier. I want to see all people as equal, but by being proud of my heritage, am I doing just the opposite?

and what about for other people? is it possible to be African American and not racist but still not want white people or other people to try to talk or dress in a way that relates to their culture or is stereotypical of them?
 
Being proud of your heritage does not mean that you get to consider your own culture above anyone else's.

There is a difference between pride and arrogance/conceit.
 
black heritage is that of mainly Africa not American dress code or English accents... so its very border line racist to not want other people to dress what is "your" style of wear... definitely not the thought process you want

I don't care when a black guy shoves piercings in his face and picks on a distorted guitar.... I encourage variety, dress and look however you want and if you're cool to chill with then that's all that matters to me

.....racism, such a touchy issue, I mean no offense to anyone offended
