My son has ADD & dyslexia. I know what you mean about whining. Currently I am paying him a m&m per answer. Sure it's not long term but most kids won't know the value of homework until after high school, when colleges refuse their application. Also first kid finished with neatly done homework has no chores for the night. Talk about no whining!
We don't believe in medications. Most kids are overly medicated, poorly monitored, & misdiagnosed. We are doing a flintstone vitamin as a Placebo. He thinks it is working, and actually does better at school. The mind is very powerfully this way. I know way off question. I just wanted everyone to know even parents have to work to get the kids homework completed.
