The Bible sais that God placed himself in every ones heart. (Or something along those lines.) Which basically means that we all want something and wearn for something. And that something is God and his love. (And wanting to have a relationship with him.) So I've Always thought that cultures worshiping their own god was them trying to worship THE God.

Not correctly stated.

Many cultures had a creation myth. Many cultures had a pantheon to worship, with one nominal head and quite a few subordinates - and rivals. The cultures you named did not all believe in a singular God. Egyptians, Mayans, Greeks, Romans, Norsemen - were polytheistic. GodS - PLURAL. Hewbrews were monotheistic. Buddhists have no requirement for a supreme being.

Native American cultures had spirit-gods, too. Most of their beliefs were naturalistic - i.e. they anthropomorphised the wind, some animal spirits, and the like.

As to that coincidence, I explain it easily. Every culture lacking adequate science turned to magical mystical beings to explain the unexplainable. This is because Man is a bloody know-it-all sometimes and simply cannot admit he doesn't have an explanation. After all, when the kids say "Why did that happen, daddy?" ... Man cannot tell them "I don't know." So he makes up a few stories based on gods.

GWB did not worship money as a god. He was actually more of a fundamentalist Christian type. Which is why we got in such trouble with him.

I agree, it leads to the conclusion that nobody has the same mind as to who lives in the heavens which means most have to be wrong, and with the chance of most being wrong, really leads to the judgement that they all are. If there was a real god, everybody would have one concensus as to who was up there. Some cultures even had more than one god, which clearly shows, nothing up there exists.

In history of mankind, people have always wanted to know answers to where they came from. Unfortunatly, science was not developped and they couldn't get answers that could be prooven. So people made up tales only to entretain but some ended up taking it too seriously and developped it more to create gods which would promise eternal life to certain people and rulers used the people's desire of eternal life to control their people by saying that they represent the gods that will give them what they desire.
