How do you define American culture?

My husband has an assignment for one of his classes and needs opinions on how one define American culture. Is there one? Yes or no and why and how would you define it. I would appreciate real answers only, please. Not people who hate America or American's. I am not interested in opinions on what is "wrong" with America and what not.
 
theres a lot to American culture and just like most places, each region has it own (south, NE, Midwest, West, Southwest), especially food, music, sports, festivals and holidays; I dont know I'd actually define it buts its pretty diverse
 
I understand you want something to define American culture but you don't want to hear anything negative,so how can anybody answer you truly. I would rather ask you what do you think is American culture :
Fast Food - Hot Dogs - Burgers - Drinking beer out of the bottle - ???
I don't hate America I just don't think you have a CULTURE ,whatever is good it was brought in from elsewhere,even Rock & Roll derives from Negro music,the same with Rap ,Soul,Jazz,Rhythm & Blues.
The only American culture is the one that is almost lost the INDIAN.
Am I wrong?
