how do i know what kind of stereo to buy for my 1998 honda civic 4 door

sedan? and is it easy to install? my stereo got stolen recently but the wire plug thing is fine and so is the little audio looking plug thing. i really know nothing about this but i would really like to get a new cheap stereo asap! how do i know what kind of stereo to get like if it will fit my car and all that and are they easy to install or would i have to pay to get it installed? thanks!

i drive a 98 honda civic 4 door sedan if that helps.
