How do I fix my cassette player in my car?

It used to work like a couple of months ago. I've only ever used it once with no problems. And now it doesn't play the audio in the tape, but it can forward and rewind it. I don't know much about cars, but is there anything I can do other than go to a car place to get it fixed?

Oh and how much are cd players for cars usually?
 
i don't know about your cassete problem but cd players prices depends on how fancy you want to go. my friend got a good Pioneer deck from Wal Mart with a few speakers. but they can go from about 70 something to about 300 something.
 
cd players range from 60 to 130 dollars depending on what your going for and weather or not your an avid enough music person to spend the money if i was in your shoes get one that has an aux jack so you could hook up your mp3 player so you don't need to mess with the stereo as much
