how come my deck isnt working?

i start my truck but the deck doesnt turn on. i dont hear the radio or anything. not even static. the deck lights dont turn on either. i got a panasonic deck. i check all the wires even the ones on my amp and sub. all of them are connected correctly and all of them are still good. i check everyone of them and they all still have power running through them. is it the deck?

story: i was changing couple wires from my amp. everything went smoothly. i started my truck. everything was working. so i cleaned up. put my chair back in and put away my tools. started the car once more just to make sure and the deck didnt even turn on.
i have this machine that i use to check for power. not sure what its called. but its a device with a screen and it has two metal clips on it. i clip it to the wires and it gives out numbers. my dad said if the numbers are all zero then the wires need to be changed.

ok thanks. ill check the remote and speaker wires again.

and yes, i did try pressing the power button haha. didnt work.
 
If you are 100% sure all your wires are good (Not sure how you're testing), check the fuse on the back of the deck. There should be a 10A fuse on the deck itself.

You could also be shorting out a speaker wire or the remote turn on wire. These can sometimes turn the deck off like a protect mode.

I'm sure you've tried this but have you tried just hitting the power or source button on the deck? Might sound stupid but I've seen it happen a million times.
