How can we stop the unions so that my Ford costs half as much? I used to blame

companies for outsourcing? but now after learning about the unions and their demands of at least $29 base plus another $33 an hour in benefits I think we all need to boycott the unions. Did they all survive because of the bailouts? We should have had them claim bankruptcy and get rid of these workers.

You do realize that unions in the US were, and still are, the backbone of the middle class. Without unions creating better working conditions, better pay, better benefits for it's workers the middle class in the US would not have developed or survived. Go ahead and do away with the unions but be prepared to be at the mercy of corporations. Be ready to accepted substandard pay, substandard working conditions, substandard benefits. Without the middle class you'll have the rich and the working poor. Have fun.

Ask yourself this. Does a Toyota made at a plant in the US cost less than a Toyota made in a plant in Japan? No it doesn't so who benefits from shipping auto manufacturing jobs outside of the US at lower labor costs? The consumer or the companies?

I can afford a Ford. I am in a Union so I get paid a fair wage. Why do you want to cheat people out of a fair wage?

Autos are sold at prices that the market will bear. Autos that are made in non-unionized factories cost about the same to the customer, only the profit varies.

You want to blame the workers for the high cost of health care? You want to blame the workers for unfair trade agreements? You want to blame the workers for legacy costs that go back thirty years? The workers have taken major concessions over the last four years, they are still working on taking more. You can't just open a contract because someone isn't happy, you have to wait until the negotiated time comes. Would you like Americans working under the same conditions that the foreign auto makers have? BTW, the foreign auto makers don't have to pay their employees health care, over seas health care is paid for by the government.
