Only use RCA's to connect to an amplifier, and that would have RCA connectors on both ends. Speakers take bare wire inputs, and should connect to some bare wires coming out the back end of the head unit's wiring harness.
Where do the RCA cables come in? The RCA outputs on the head unit aren't meant to be connected directly to speakers. The speaker outputs are usually bare wire or bullet connectors.
