I have a Macintosh that's about 15 years old, but just a couple of days ago Master of Orion was working fast and without lag. Recently though the mouse response time has been over 3 seconds, and when I click Next Turn it takes a ridiculous amount of time for the animation to finish, even at the beginning when I only send one ship to explore a nearby star it takes upwards of 20 seconds before I can click on anything again. I've got v1.3, turned off all sound and otherwise my Mac runs perfectly. What could be wrong, and how can I fix it?
I've also tried reinstalling, patching, cleaning up the hard-drive and closing all other programs while it is running. Oh, and also there is no sound on Master of Orion even when I enable sound. I don't know if that helps but whatever ^_^
I've also tried upping the framerate, but for some reason it actually slows it down; lowering the framerate also slows it down... It seems to work fastest at the default framerate of 3000.
