How can I replace the iPod cable in my Alpine ida-x100?

The ida-x100 has a cable coming from it that ends in a female usb. Then there is a short cable with a male usb on one end, and an iPod adapter on the other. The iPod adapter end on mine broke (it's made of really cheap plastic). I tried using my iPod computer cable (also usb) thinking it would work, but then my stereo simply said "USB device error" on the screen. When I use the broken cable (if I am very gentle and place it just right, it still connects) it works fine. Is there some difference between Alpine's iPod USB cable and Apple's? Is there some place I can find a cable that will work (and isn't the crap that came with the stereo)? Thanks for any help you can give!

There shouldn't be a difference. Try another iPod to USB cable.

USB stands for UNIVERSAL serial bus, so it's supposed to work in everything with a USB port.
