heres the gist of the story- (i'm 17 years old if that matters)
meet this girl through a friend, ask her to this formal dance after talking with her for a while, treat her like gold, and after that night, she's a total piece of work to me. i mean, if i try to call her, it's just "why would you do that? congrats? thats stupid!" i did nothing to cause her to have the right to be angry toward me, and go out of my way to make her feel great, and she ignores my call and text for the next week. i finally ask her a couple weeks later what i did to make her angry at me, and what's been wrong -- i'll be happy to leave her alone. she says it's nothing of my doing, and she didn't mean to make me think that i'm annoyed with her.
i really don't care too much at this point, i've kind of moved on. i've clearly put myself out there enough for her to see that i'm trying to contact her, and she doesn't seem to care. i'm pretty laid-back, so i don't get upset and happily adjust my sights to different people. so she tries to text message me (although never a legitimate call) with me and i'm generally pretty short with her and don't do a lot to keep up the conversation. maybe in some circles this can be interpreted as "playing hard to get" but i really don't care, i just don't feel like talking to her.
i ended up through a coincidental chain of events, seeing my best friend at the movie theater the other day when i'm waiting on another group of friends -- and he's waiting to meet up with the original girl that i went to the dance with. she tends to invite him to a lot of things, and he goes along with it to be nice, but he thinks she gets pretty annoying at times. i see her out of the corner of my eye approaching him, so we both suggest that i leave, and i get the hell out of there. she text messages me with "nice little dodge" and frankly, i don't care. i have no reason to talk to her, and i had other friends to meet up with anyway. after the movie, i sent her a message (being testy more than anything) that "i had to go meet up with my date".. prompting her to spur a long series of questions such as "oh how nice! how long have you known her? do i know her? what are your plans for tomorrow? have you seen this movie? i thought it was.." -- my answers were "Not too long, no, no idea, no, nice, and finally good night"
i never try to initiate these conversations -- how can i get her to leave me alone?
