There's really no way to get the 2.2 version other then over the airwaves while the phone is turned off. The up-date's are always sent to the phone's over the airwaves. You just need to pay the bill. Go into settings or where ever you check for updates and select check for updates. But this can only be done while the phone is turned on and bill is payed.
