I have 2 12" subs hooked up to a 800 watt amp with a pioneer head unit. Once the head unit is turned on and the amp has power, the subwoofers start constantly thumping. (Like a heartbeat) This happens even when the volume is on 0. I've tried different higher quality RCA cables, as well as routing them on the opposite side of the power & remote turn on wire, and the noise still doesn't go away. When the head unit on so that power is still being supplied to the amp but the RCA cables are unplugged from the back of the head unit, the noise stops. Probably a problem with the head unit - anything I can do without going out and buying a new one?
