How Can China and America work together to best mitigate climate change?
Climate change is a big issue and america and china are the main contributor to emissions. What are some ways that these two nations can work together to mitigate their contributions to climate change and environmental degradation?

China could reinforce its old law to reduce the number of children it produces, and actually start giving a damn about the huge amount of emissions it releases into the air in a given year.

Look up the "Asian Brown cloud", you'll see a huge cloud of pollution from satellite photos hovering over the far east.

China has no regulations, its workers mean nothing to them, the conditions a lot of them live in are horrible, and the government does not really care that its destroying its world...

In a sense it might be said, that eventually they'll solve the problem themselves by polluting their country and region so much that they all eventually die, unfortunately that just might take us with them.

The united states and other "civilized" countries could place bans on exporting work to china and other countries with similar problems, until they fall in line with regulations similar to those of the united states and others, so that it becomes nice and expensive to manufacture in china, just like it is here..

You see the main reason so much work is going there, is china is NOT a humanitarian place, EVEN LESS than we (the usa) are, conditions there are the same as they used to be here, if you travel into their cities, you'll never see the sky, its a constant white color, from all the smog and harmful gases they release into the air.

The answer is, there is no working with them, their is only placing trade embargoes on them until they clean up their act... which will basically dissuade trade anyway, because regulations are the cause of it being so expensive to produce things here.

I might add that India also contributes to environmental degradation as well, not ALL things produced in India are made in sweat shops by 6 year old children by hand... although that certainly would be a lot more environmentally friendly.

Don't hold your breath though, EVERYTHING in this world is based off two things, Money and Greed. Greed makes the world go round, it destroys lives, embitters the non rich, and ensures that as the world spins, we all spin with it down a spiral to our own destruction, not until we wake up and cast aside our need for money where certain things are concerned (like for example government financed conversion of all motor vehicles to hydrogen based engines), will any change really occur, those that know about things, are either two few, or are careless because they see green, those that don't know, don't really want to know, and don't care.

china and America can work out together by helping each other

I guess the question is, what is the climate changing to? What is the expected climate? Is there a perfect setting for the weather and temperature? Since the Earth does what it wants, I'd have to say no to all of these.

Climate change is not problem, it is not an issue. There is nothing wrong with the weather.

they could try getting the hell out of the way and letting people figure out a solution instead of forcing a solution that may or may not be the best or even work down our throats.

China is the biggest producer of CO2 but has flatly refused to go along with any restrictions. Also, the other countries that have refused to reduce their CO2 emissions are Russia, Cuba, India, most of the Middle Eastern countries, and most of South Africa.

Global warming liars, however, insist that CO2 builds up on the atmosphere over a 50 to 250 year period, but this is untrue. "Every year around April, increased CO2 absorption by plants in the Northern Hemisphere starts reducing the CO2 in the atmosphere," notes Ashworth, "and the reduction continues until around mid-to-late August when plants start to go dormant."

"It is clear that nature reacts very fast in its consumption of carbon dioxide." Farmers call this the growing season, followed by the harvest season, followed by snow and cold during which nothing grows. Modern civilization, beginning about 5,000 years ago, is predicated on the ability to provide food to both humans and livestock, all based on these obvious seasonal cycles.

First off good luck on getting china to do anything it doesn't want to do. America maybe a huge producer of CO2 if that's actually the guilty culprit of Global warming???? but do you understand that China pollutes it's waters beyond anything you could imagine. They are an up and coming civilization that is still using outdated technology to feed this economic boom. It would take a lot more on their part to get things cleaned up. California gets smog from China. The US would have to help china totally revamp their industries and hell the US just needs to find a renewable clean source to run factories, cars, heat in homes, and stop deforestation. There is no simple answer because with every action there is a reaction on the people. So it's a delicate situation that will be hard to change.
