;3178850']That's the beauty of DVD, if you choose to watch in the original language with subtitles, you can or you can choose to watch it dubbed.
I don't mind dubbed movies that much, as I often have a hard time reading subtitles, they are either not on the screen long enough or in places the subtitles don't contrast with the movie, so they almost disapear in places. I remember having to pause Audition in places so that I had time to read the subtitles (white text shown over a close up of someone in a white dress). The subtitle gag in Goldmember really highlights this problem in an amusing way.
If subtitles could be shown in a similar way to a mouse pointer on a PC (i.e. white with a black border) then there would be no problems seeing the text and I would be happy to watch a subtitled film.
