Anyone seen this? I watched it last night and was very impressed. Not sure if I liked it as much as Hero though, but the story is stronger and the set pieces magnificent.

Ziyi Zhang was fabulous and Jin was absolutely gorgeous!
 
saw this yesterday and thought it was bloody brilliant although i have to say I didn't like the character of Mei very much, I couldn't see why they were both fighting over her when she'd lied to both of them and led both of them on - but then that's the cynic in me.

It was very well written and looked beautiful, i'd recommend it to most of the people i know. Haven't seen Hero yet, but must make time for it :)
 
Yes. Steel cutting cheekbones pretty boy Takeshi Kaneshiro. You won't be surprised to know he is an ex- Prada model.

To be fair he was already a hugely popular star, before Prada chose him to front their worldwide spring/summer campaign several years ago. He also used to sing (quite nicely too), but certainly more talented as an actor.

I think he looked better with short hair though. :cool:
 
I have only seen bits of that ironically. Apparently it is meant to be stronger visually, but not so much in story. I would imagine very muchly in the same vein.

It is Ziyi Zhang thats been in HOFD, Hero and CTHD?
 
im pissed off as i had to work today, and wen i come back realise everyone else has gone out ot see it again. they will be gettign thrashed.
 
How come we (uk) dont get any dubbed films? I think its good. subtiltes may be destracting and tiring, but dubbing is even more annoying. i just dont get why they dont use it though...
 
I'm against dubbing. The sound and voices are obviously a big part of the film-makers' choices. Giving them to a dubbing house is, well... no offence or anything, but dodgy at best. I know it's extra jobs for actors. But I'd still go for the sub-titles.

The only time I'd choose a dubbed film is if I'm bringing the kiRAB (as they have a harder time reading).

House is a magnificent film.

Oh, by the way, definitely go for the big screen rather than the DVD. It's a feast.

;3178850']That's the beauty of DVD, if you choose to watch in the original language with subtitles, you can or you can choose to watch it dubbed.

I don't mind dubbed movies that much, as I often have a hard time reading subtitles, they are either not on the screen long enough or in places the subtitles don't contrast with the movie, so they almost disapear in places. I remember having to pause Audition in places so that I had time to read the subtitles (white text shown over a close up of someone in a white dress). The subtitle gag in Goldmember really highlights this problem in an amusing way.

If subtitles could be shown in a similar way to a mouse pointer on a PC (i.e. white with a black border) then there would be no problems seeing the text and I would be happy to watch a subtitled film.
