I don't think that at all ??? Let me put it this way. Does anyone care about WM6.5.3.1, WM6.6.1.2, or prefer WM7? Why spend that extra time releasing/compiling that firmware as an update when they could spend their time releasing and polishing S^4?
Remember, that whatever they want to release they have to give it a firmware number (ie S60 5th ed v1.2.3 or what not). You're saying (don't know) that you would prefer to have/see every little update on your phone instead of a massive one?
If SF wanted, as soon as they did something to an icon (change color, size, etc...) they could release a firmware update, do you want that?
or would you prefer to get the update that had all of the icons changed?
SF "We changed the look of the clock icon, and we decided to give it a major firmware update, going from S^1 to S^1.0.1..." Is that what you want? That's what I'm getting at.
Yes everything that they do is put together on their Symbian roadmap of features.
Notice I said Symbian, and not S^1 or S^2. Work on what the Symbian OS will have, but don't waste time releasing an update that isn't even worth it. Yes, we know you made it open source, but that doesn't mean that you should be releasing a version when ever you finish one feature out of the hundred. You also have to think if the GUI/UX/UI that S^3 will have will be ported over to S^4, if not, then whatever time spend on the release of S^3 was wasted. I don't mean wasted time working on the Symbian OS, but the release version of it.
Also, if S^3 won't be able to upgrade to S^4, then that is once again time wasted on S^3.
See where I'm getting at? Work on Symbian, not S^3. Don't know if you understand me lol.
