Hot rumor: The Nokia N8 with Symbian^3

In my opinion.. I think Symbian^1 was rushed..

Symbian^4 is due by the end of 2010 or early 2011 according to Symbian.

Also Symbian^4 would break away from Symbian^3 as far as I know.. Symbian^4 will also use the newly acquired QT code libraries.

You missed 2 symbian^3 shots:

Well, at least they are still dominant in volumes! :D Once they get SF^4 and Maemo6 out and rolling they _might_ be in a position to gain the leadership position in revenues/profits again too. Maybe. Maybe not. Time will tell.

Ps. There is now in the latest SF roadmap the SF^5 and SF^6 rough outlines that you were looking for the other day

Great then ..only drawback being the lack of led ( though I am also not sure of that ) and the fixed battery ( again speculation ) .. Apart from that this handset looks killer to me . Ohh... that xenon flash will be even stronger than the one on N82 for sure .. :)

Isnt the 5800xm and X6 Symbian^2 already with Kinetic Scrolling and their Contacts Homescreen?
Anyway im looking forward to Symbian^3 devices, i hope theres a nice Xseries S^3 to be announced,or a N97-mini type device eg. 5mp cam, 3.2inch screen, but with TI OMAP3 and 256mb RAM, i dont mind if it doesnt have a keyboard :D

Um, lets see....

Better email support. (Exchange on iPhone, BIS on BB)
Better developer support (iPhone, Android and BB)
Better hardware specs. (No managing your pathetic amounts of RAM/C: space)(No resistive screens, 2007 resolutions)

I like Symbian, I think it's a more than capable OS. However, their lack of UI advancement, and Nokia's tendency to skimp on hardware and software QA has soured me quite a bit.

External SIM card tray means.. most likely sealed battery. Is Nokia trying to copy Apple to make thier phones slim? ;)

In any case, I like the specs on the paper. But I have to see to beleive it. We all know how Nokia failed in the recent years.. I have very little hope that this will be successful.

could be. could also be that /erizon had a huge gaping hole in their line up and agreed not to mess with the droid. though it's not like moto wasn't in a need fo break either... match made in heaven :)

ps does google get involved in those discussions?

Really, ??? how does the N82 lens cover add bulk?

I know Phone companies are always trying to come up with new ideas and style. But, if it ain't broke, dont fix it.

Nokia is very unpredictable..

I mean take a look at the N900 as a good example..

Announced August 2009 and Released November 2009.

They also seem to bounce on their bad habits.. Take a look at the 1st N95 with an available RAM of 22MB after boot then comes the N95-3 with an available RAM of 70MB after boot.

This seems like a bogus rumor to me. All reports from legitimate sources say that Nokia is not announcing any new devices at MWC. But the most damning evidence against this rumor is that if anyone tracked back to the French site it originates from you would see that the device is not called the N8, but actually the N8-00. Come on, Nokia already released a device called the N800. Either way, I hope the rumor is true, but highly doubt if this device actually exists that it will be called the N8-00.

Well, they didn't do anything to the device, that's the point. Also, even though they (Verizon) has the Droid exclusively they didn't do anything to damage the HTC Eris, or the HTC Desire, and also the Pre Plus, correct? Unlike AT&T, the still don't want anything to compete with the iPhone. Take for example the Motorola Backflip. They locked down that device completely.

Yeah, Google gets in the discussion but only when they want to choose their next "Google Phone"
