Unfortunately, she was a complete airhead who found out she'd lost money on the project after filming a cringingly smug tour of her misguided work on the house!
 
HUTH is fine, leave it where it is. I used to like TBONTB as well, but its not so good now Christian and Dom have moved on.

I have to switch off after that though, can't stand Cash in the Attic/Car booty and Tim Wonacott on Bargain Hunt is probably the most irritating man on TV.
 
Fair point I supose. We never used to have 24 hours telly so there was less crap (might of been even less good stuff).

Maybe the BBC could strand the daytime output of BBC1 as "BBC CRAP" with brown Idents and everything. :D

I like some crap telly. HUTH and TBONTB I watch often. Theres good crap and bad crap IMO! :)

Its just gone midnight on saturday night I might be talking crap myself people so please ignor me if I am!
 
For daytime TV, HUTH is great (though I do have a small crush on Martin, so that may cloud my judgement slightly ;) )


If people are daft enough to believe that can still make a fortune in property then they obviously haven't been watching the news. Anyway, if you want a house to live in or for long term rental then property auctions are still a good bet.

It was awful wasn't it? What was the point of having three possible relatives when they would have known straight away from DNA who the real one was.... smacked of trying to make it into some sort of game show. Not necessary at all.


BUT...

Anyone who slags off Homes Under the Hammer is clearly insane. Hamlet 77 does no exaggerate. It's a mini work of genius ;)
 
Since they often go back to the property several months after it was bought it's not surprising that they haven't yet filmed many auctions after September 2008. I'm sure they're on the case though.
 
i wish they would do a follow up prgramme, like huth revisited to show some of the one that were not finished or started when they went back its really good viewing is huth
 
Did I read right that it's not going to be on this week? I will have serious withdrawal if this is the case. The prospect of not hearing Lucy proclaim "Let's go to auction!" with her usual gusto is depressing.

(I do love the fact that they film the pretend "pre-auction" tour of the property after the auction has taken place. It adRAB to the show's cheesy charm!)

No :eek: It can't be true. Even on the outtakes they always look like they're having a laff... :( But I suppose the magic of television can make anyone look like the best of buddies
 
Reference the query. There was a program on one weekiday morning where several presenters were filmed doing what they do. This young lady was encvhanted by a large dwelling that was empty, locked; no access at all. She decided to peep through the letter box. As filmed she determined to have her own way seemingly falling out with her husband on camera'

As she had not been inside and I believe did not ignore the legal pack she found herself in a position where she could not get past some building regs. Her and her husband were filmed waiting outside the county seat waiting for a committee to make a decision which could have cost a lot of money having spent over a million.

The penalty for not abiding the advice she keeps on giving on air.

The decision went their way, it was not a certainty that would happen by a long way.

By the way, I have not been burned. I just believe in what I said inasmuch as it is irresponsible to purvey the optimism they do.

And this programming sop to many greedy developers who roll up in big cars boasting of earning made a long time ago do not seem appropriate.
 
They do seem, in this series, to be going back to properties bought 3-5 years ago, to keep it "fresh". I really can't bear the overdoing of a music or expression clich
 
To Buy or Not to Buy is a bit Hit and Miss for me, IF it is four bedroom house with land in the Cotswold it's a bit of fantasy window shopping, BUT too often it is something that just does not interest me what's wanted.... I agee it does annoy me when they basically break the rules of the brief and break the budget, show the mugs something totally inapproriate. And ALL these property search programmes get daft when the brief is totally unattainable, 'I want a six bedroom mansion in Central London for 55K' AND the victims get all upset when they can't get EXACTLY what they want for a pittance.
