Homes under the Hammer has to end!!!

LOL I wonder what Martin's more "detailed" fan-mail is like? I reckon it could be things along the lines of...

no actually I aint going to say lol it might be too rude. The building trade has far to much innuendo in it. I'll leave that for the rest of you to come up with :D

Can anyone out there tell me when there will be a NEW series of 'Homes Under The Hammer'? More specifically - if there will be later 2006/2007 auctions?

I love HUTH but the one thing that annoys me is when they say avacado bathroom suites are so 80's ,they were actually from the 70's .Same with wallpaper when they say 80's when its 90's, believe me I know my borders from my super fresco :o apart from those totally trivial niggles , its a great show.

My mum watched it for the first time last week and didnt realise most of it was inuendo and humour she thought they were being serious!! She also thought it was an old program due to how the presenters were dressed ;)

I do like how they match the songs to the houses tho :D

i absolutely love HUTH!!

i like how they visit the houses on the same programme to check progress.

One thing I don't like is when its big property developers who outbid say a young family at the auction

plus im always disappointed when they check up on the house and have'nt got planning permission and no works been done. its like awww.. id love see how it turned out!

Its why God invented multi-channel TV

Its even worse when they show repeats and then that godawful lets root round some middle class persons house and flog stuff so they can visit Disneyland show

Don't see any reason why the show should be dropped, and it doesn't come across as "fake" at all. If you are at all bothered about it just sit back smugly thinking all those people rushing into buying property to rent in order to make a quick buck will come a cropper soon when the rental market is saturated and they won't be able to sell on their houses for the hefty profit they think they've made. After all the working population is getting smaller, baby boomers like myself will already have a house paid for so won't want to move, and immigration won't continue for ever, so where will the future renters come from?

It'll all end in tears, but then that's a new programme opportunity - "Bankruptcy under the Hammer"...

Bargain Hunt? Yeah I HATE that too, never ever watch it. The people who's houses they look around are rich anyway so could afford the

Point of order Mr Chairman! (showing my debating society background). It's not crap. It's tat, crap is the best description of the programmes.

I do admit in an ideal world even at 5 a.m. all tv channels would be showing high quality, original drama, comedy, documentaries or even sport.

BUT unless we want the tv license to be 30 grand a year that is never going to happen. And even the most insane (i.e me) and wealthy (i.e NOT me) fan of the license fee would ever agree to that.

I loved the banter this morning between the Auctioneer Graham Barton and the Lady bidder it was really funny she was determined to get her house.

Home under the hammer continues on BBC1 as if the credit situation does not exists. Spreading optimism that may not be as easy to achieve.

A lot of people believe everything they see on TV; flush with optimism they risk their savings and abandon careers.

Everytime I watch it, hoping that I see auctions that did not happen a couple of years ago. I wonder just how many are on the floor, indebted out of their depth. There must be a significant number. I would guess they cherry pick subjects to keep the presenters in this attractive fairy tale environment so they look good.

Imagine the gullible seeing posturing property developers arriving in in big cars, talking in

HUTH is great TV and I think its quite cheap and fast to produce so I expect it will continue on for many years yet. However, unlike Grand Designs or Property Ladder you don't always see the blood, sweat and tears that go into doing up a property so it can make it look easy. I also saw one the other day where the woman who bought a property had been motivated to do it after watching HUTH!! Wow what influence this programme has.

The guy in the stripey jackets ??

He's a good laugh , he is !

Celebrity auctioneers would be fun too , especially if they messed up & couldn't keep up with all the bidding !!

Murray Walker would be hilarious !! :D

oh grow up, i dont like corrie or emmerdale but i accept people do so i have no right to demand they end, incidentally i don't like homes under the hammer but i don't believe it should be axed because i want it to be, if you dont like switch over or off and get your facts right before engaging brain, your rantings came across as silly and imature,

I cannot stand the acting either. They should just get some wanna be property developers to do all the acting instead it would be much more realistic that way! :D :p

I do like it.

it must have an incredibly fast production rate though, being on every day and churning out all those properties and interviews.

Ans they always manage to get them in shot together at the end to say 'see you next time'.

If someone invests all of their savings and/or give up their career for any such venture without

a) properly understanding the property market (especially how it is reacting in current times)

b) seeking proper financial advice

c) seeking proper advice from property experts

then they only have themselves to blame.

You cannot wrap people in cottonwool in order to protect them from themselves.
