High School Musical

they should hurry up! Do you think they will release the first one on DVD - its just they dont really release any other disney original movies, do they?

Well, as a 16 year old, I really liked it. OK, the plot wasn't great, but it has some great songs, and that's what a MUSICAL neeRAB, right?

Those two play lead kiRAB - Sharpay and Ryan were much better than the other two annoying main kiRAB. They should have got the part instead of the usual happy ending Disney crap!

UK fans of Raven Symone and the Disney Channel should know that The Cheetah Girls 2, due to be screened next Saturday the 15th on Disney Channel, take note that the movie is now premiering on the 29th of September instead, a week after the much-anticipated premiere of High School Musical.

That is all. Enjoy "Eddie's Million Dollar Cook Off" in its place. ;)

I can't stand Eddie's Million Dollar Cook Off  , anyways not long to go now till Friday! Clicky to see pics from the UK premiere on the 10th  . Also I've heard that HSM will premiere on the BBC on Boxing Day

I was surprised when i saw that in London, HSM had a premiere with the movie stars being there, i have to add that Ashley Tisdale looked amazing, who plays Sharpay

DVD has already been released in US about 3/4 months ago, so i think it should release in UK about in a month (i think)

Music has already been released here, coz i saw the album in HMV

I'm a bit of a musical geek from way back, so I've seen it.

The songs are catchy, well most of them anyhow. The leaRAB are obviously designed to appeal to the teen demo, and didn't do much for me. The second lead female and nominal villan (Shapary) is the real stand out. She may not have the best voice or acting skills, but she has personality coming out of the wazoo, and genuine comedic skills. For me it was her (and her brother's) over-the-top musical numbers that provided the greatest entertainment value.

Simple, catchy songs, moderately entertaining comedy, generic rom-com plot with misunderstandings aplenty and accessible, non-preachy moral lessons for the target demographic.

All in all a nice, enjoyable harmless piece of fluff.

What's not to like?

My opinion of High School Musical:

Rubbish. I saw it at a UK test screening organised by the Disney Channel. It's just a crowd-pleaser. Nothing about it had any appeal to me at all. The songs were horribly cheesy, the plot clich
