I'm the freshman team's kicker, but I am getting really depressed and pissed at the same time because of the distance I kick it. to me it seems reeeeeeaaaaaally short. I can only kick it down to the 24-26 yard line ON A GOOD KICK! the ball is kicked from the 40 yard line so rhats only a 35 yard kick
. I've been thinking it's the ball i've been practicing with because it's a piece of.... and whenever I want to go kicking my dad always tags along which makes it even harder because he is so critical and pressuring. he used to be my soccer coach. it's so frustrating! personally I think I should be kicking it 10-15 yards farther. I've played soccer for 10 years which is where I get the leg from. and I've also been building up muscle at home and the gym all through out the summer but I haven't seen a difference at all. I can kick a 40 yard field goal and only punt it 30-40 yards which in my opinion sucks (because you have to take away the 15 yards between the center and the punter).
also there are a couple of kids on the team spreading .... like "oh he's not that good" behind my back. I've tried telling myslef that they are jealous or are scared by my ability to kick it but I have a hard time actually believing it. but the kid spreading it is a prick and nobody likes him.
it's just so frustrating that I haven't seen any results despite all my best efforts. and I have also been tweaking my back everytime I kick.
I'm thinking about giving it up and just focusing on school and lacrosse
so my question is do you guys have tips to helpme get distance and how to deal with it emotionally?
thanks
sorry for the spelling, I sent this from my phone...
