High freqency sound in my speakers?

Check the ENGINE'S grounding straps. If it's not properly grounded it can send a tonal through the chassis. It can also be a speaker, and not the amp itself picking up on a bad ground. Haven't ever seen a solved, rpm-variant high frequency speaker sound NOT be a ground.
 
damn, I have a similar problem. When my car is off, I can play my ipod thru all speakers but when its turned on, only 3 work :(. Might have to take it to some audio shop
 
So I hooked my new amp up and theres this high frequency sound in the speakers its connected to. The sound only comes on when the car is turned on. So its fine with the keys in the ignition and with just the radio on, but when I turn the engine on the sound comes into the speakers.

I checked the grounding and i've done plenty of different things to try to fix it. Change the poisition of the ground cable, scratched paint etc, but nothing seems to be working. Any ideas?

If is changes with engine rpm it is probably what's known as "alternator whine". You need to get a filter/suppressor from your stereo shop to eliminate the noise.
