HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

Yes, they are. My favorite albums are "Cowboys from Hell" and "Vulgar Display of Power", but to be quite honest I haven't heard too much from their other albums. Definitely check 'em out!

I'm looking for a specfic album. I downloaded the album when I was a meraber of alt.net and it's now longer on my computer. The album was an antholgy of electronica and dance music from the St. Petersburg (Russia) underground club scene that was issued around two years ago. The cover had a yellow background with a young girl blowing on a trumpet amid some red banners. All artists on the album were completely unknown in the USA. One song was in English and I think it was called Mr. Sigmund Freud. The album was unusual because mixes were state of the art electronica but the vocals post punk circa 1980. Alll of the deejays had very strange names but I can't remeraber any of them. When I first downloaded the album there were very few reviews of the album but nearly all of them were very positive. I remebered checking to see if the album was available at Amazon and I was surprised that it was because the album got very little media coverage.

Somebody help me... I really liked this album and I lost it when I ended my subscription to Alt.net a few months back and now I'd like to purchase it.

Listened to both these cd's this past week, and realized how much I really enjoyed both.

Both these cd's have a similar layout. They both are heavily based in hip hop, but half the songs on both discs are the groups branching out into other genre's like instrumental's, punk, even a choir song at the end of the Len CD. Both keep me riveted until the end just cause they're so eclectic I guess.

I just wanted to know if anyone could recommend some similar albums? It's not like nu-metal or rap and rock mixed, or straight up hip-hop like X-Ecutioners or something...its just cd's that are musically all over the place, with hip hop roots. If you've heard these you probably know what I mean. Thx to anyone that replies. :)

Okay so for an English project I have to pick a song and relate it to anything in the book To Kill a Mockingbird. I have to relate the book to the song lyrics both literally and/or figuratively/syrabolically. Any suggestion on a good song? It cannot use any cursing, must be school appropriate.

Thanks a lot!!!

I'm not sure if this a genre, but I'm looking for music that is like hard rock or metalcore but incorporates instuments from classical genres (violins, piano)

some similar stuff to go from would be:

1. anything from I Am Ghost
2. A lot of Avenged Sevenfold is like this
3. All hanRAB on deck - Funeral for a friend
4. Ocean avenue - Yellowcard (has a great violin part)

what do you recommend.

Welcome to music banter!

I can't reccomend a single genre for that "taking you along for a ride" kind of feeling, but concept albums that tell stories usually do it for me.

My reccomendations would be:
-De-loused in the Comatorium- The Mars Volta

-2112-Rush (not necessarily a concept album, but has a 20 minute song that tells you a story, which should satisfy)
