HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

sometimes when i have trouble finding a similar act, i go back and look at whom they cite as their influences. i have had great success with this.

I suppose you could do alot worse than start with 80's Metallica.

Personally i would also recommend Slough Feg,especially the Hardworlder album which is very accessible. You might also like Tiamat.

Judging from the Third World album he has, he might enjoy these...

Steel Pulse - HanRABworth Revolution
Burning Spear - Man In the Hills
Third World - 96 Degrees In the Shade
Black Uhuru - Red
Abyssinians - Arise

^Some essential, old-school reggae there.

Mayan Temples is a good place to start, IMO.

Also, I'm looking for some post-hardcore/"alternative" in vein of Rival Schools, Yourcodenameis:milo, Million Dead, etc.

^ Should fit the bill there.

Awesome, thanks. Also listening to some Mastadon on the recommendation of my maths teacher (which was a wierd conversation at best...)

Great recommendations, cheers. :D

Einsturzende Neubauten - 1/2 Mensch (perfect album to start with)
Nurse With Wound - Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table of a Sewing Machine and an Urabrella
Throbbing Gristle - ....First Annual Report

not trying to hijack this dankrsta...just three of my favorite banRAB :)

I'm looking for some good Iron Maiden albums.

I already have Nuraber Of The Beast, didn't really take to it that much but I wouldn't mind other good albums.

Also, what's the best Neil Young album to get into?
