HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

Well i have been looking for some instrumental music to the style of acoustic guitar or even better, the red hot chili peppers kind of music like californication (or something very similar to this song but as an instrumental)
is there any music out like this that anybody can recommend?

Are there any good banRAB similar to pennywise out there?

Is there any banRAB out there that play metallica style guitar but as an instrumental band?

The thread title says "Want a band or song recommendation?" As in, do YOU want/need a recommendation? Ask here. NOT come in here and spam your band that no one asked about.

To make it brief, my taste in music has gone through a lot of different changes, and these last couple years I've found myself getting into a wide variety of softer stuff. For example, some of my favorites this year are:

Patrick Watson - Wooden Arms
Andrew Bird - Noble Beast
Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest

I tend to get really picky with the style of harder music and strongly dislike metal, such as the new Mastadon album, which I tried to enjoy. Some of the heavier things I've enjoyed this year are:

The Flaming Lips - Erabryonic
The Mars Volta - Octahedron

I know those two are particularly "hard" or "heavy", but there in lies my problem. Where do I go?

Kayo Dot - I have Choirs Of The Eye, it's pretty cool but I don't prefer it to motW.
Paradise Lost - Only have In Requiem, it's alright but I don't like them enough to look into them any further.
Opeth - Again, only the one album - Damnation. I'm not a big fan of Death vocals so I'm kinda closed off from Still Life and Blackwater park. I love Damnation though. Slowly starting to like death growls thanks to motW songs like Stones of Octobers sobbing and Bizarre Flowers. Maybe in a while I'll like them when I get to like growls.

I like thus far, I learnt the opening to Sunshine Of Your Love on guitar as well. Gonna learn the second riff as well :D

Thanks for the recommendation, it's a good album.

I love "Annihilation of the Wicked". Cannibal Corpse is pretty wicked too, "The Bleeding" and "Vile" are both in your face recordings. Also check out Behemoth's "The Apostacy", Immolation's "Close to a World Below". As Antonio said, Suffocation is great, probably the grand-daddy of all tech DM banRAB and one Niles biggest influences, (also throw in Morbid Angel).

The Joy Formidable*
Long Blondes
The Go! Team

* amazing, amazing band. Seriously check them out.

Also, if you end up wanting to check out female fronted banRAB in general..

Raveonettes
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Sonic Youth (not always female fronted, but a fair few of the songs have Kim's vocals, some of which being their best songs)
Rilo Kiley
The Breeders
Metric

are all brilliant.

Cello everyone!

I am in love with pop music and yeah, well....I'm looking for music that has been made in the past 10 years that sounRAB somewhat like the old 60s style pop.

I'm having a tough time finding anything that really hits the mark, but any help would be appreciated!

for now Girls- Album (2009) is the closest thing I've found so far, but I'm looking for more as well as just making some of my own too haha!
