Warsawpack are a Canadian jazzy hip hop outfit that get compared to RATM quite a bit on here. Very anti-establishment political bent, and I would recommend them anyway, I really like both of their albums. I can probably help you with a link to their debut if you want.

'And it's no wonder, when it involves this much cash
That your engines, still designed to run off of gas
Because you still got ten, twenty good years left
Until the year of the car crash.'

Thanks, i appreciate the awesome quick responses. I'm an eric clapton fan but i've never heard his unplugged album so i'll check that out. Never heard of Elliot Smith but i'm doing to do a quick search for him now.

Keep the recommendations coming :p
Also looking for artists who just play their guitar(or any instrument) and don't involve singing at all.

I need some really in-your-face rap metal/rapcore, possibly similar to Rage Against The Machine. No Papa Roach, Saliva, P.O.D, and especially no nu-metal.

For Yes, start with Fragile or Close to the Edge.
For Spoon, I like Telephono, A Series of Sneaks, and Girls Can Tell. I haven't heard the following two and the most recent was a step down from those three.

Right, i want to go on a boxset shop soonish. I'd like some reccomendations for good boxsets for..

Reggae
Dub (I'll probably go Trojan for those 2, specific ones for these would be great though)
Motown
And maybe anything else anyone could reccomend!

So I have a new favorite band, at the moment, the Black Dahlia Murder. The one thing I love about them that is that there are no breakdowns. I absolutely despise breakdowns. They're too slow, and they're very overrated.

Anyways, I'm having trouble finding banRAB that play like this, with no breakdowns. It seems like every new band I hear about is just another bunch of scene kiRAB who think that deathcore and breakdowns are the s**t. I mean, I don't mind a bridge where the tempo is slowed up a bit, but not so slow that I can walk around the block and the breakdown still not be over. (Exaggerated, but you get the point.)

Let me use the popular song "Pray for Plagues" by Bring me the Horizon, a decent example:

1. 00:00 to 00:24 at fast tempo (I'm not good at determining bpm)
2. Drums and Bass significantly slow down for 00:24 to 00:33
3. 00:33 to 01:00 at same tempo as no. 1, pretty much.
4. 01:00 to 01:40 Z0MG 3P1C BR3AKD0WN!! (not really)
5. 01:40 to 01:58 same as above, but Guitar goes off and does it's own thing.
6. 01:58 to 02:13 same as no. 1.
7. 02:13 to 02:34 bridge, moderate tempo
8. 02:34 to 02:49 chorus, slow tempo
9. 02:49 to 03:02 repeat chorus, in an 3P1C BR3AKD0WN!! fashion, minus the double bass.
10. 03:02 to 03:24 same as no. 1.
11. 03:24 to 03:58 moderate break.
12. 03:58 to 04:22 3P1C BR3AKD0WN!! ending with fast double bass, slow guitar.

To me, this is pretty absurd. This song, and many others like it, have more tempo changes than a Rush song of the same length!

So, now that my point is made, can anyone tell me of anything, anything that's like the Black Dahlia Murder? Please?
