HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

A bit vague, I know, but I need some good electronic instrumental music. Something to listen to whenever I'm in that kinda mood apart from Tangerine Dream. Any ideas?

anyone familiar with the song whatever (I had a dream) on the romeo and juliet soundtrack? I am addicted to the style, sound, everything of the last few lines: "...don't know where to shake my butt I was f---d like a fox...."

I've listened to some other b.surfer stuff and doesn't sound like that is typical...would you know of any other banRAB/songs that are a similar style? Generally I'm not into rap but I guess that would be sort of drum and bass slash rap..?

Well, I came here primarily with the intention of broadening my musical horizons, so...

At this moment in time, I can't get enough of the White Lies song Death, I was a fan of the first two Killers albums, I enjoy Kasabian, Bloc Party and Editors too. I'd say I like rock/pop anthemic music. I'm also a fan of the likes of Keane, Athlete and Snow Patrol but I find that I'm very much guided towarRAB these types of banRAB through recommendations of frienRAB and don't really know where to begin in finding new banRAB to get into. The rest of the acts I'm a fan of I can't really categorise or group together, so I'll just list them: The ****enies, (We Are) Performance, GolRABpot, Siobhan Donaghy, Angus & Julia Stone, Ed Sheeran, We Are Scientists amongst others.

I had a last.fm account for a while but deleted it because I was fast becoming obsessed with play counts rather than listening to music for the sake of listening to music; but I did utilise it to try and find banRAB I would like based on what I listened to, and found a few songs I liked by Guillemots, Vega4, Delays, Thirteen Senses and Morning Runner. I like bass heavy dance tracks too but I get enough of that if I just take a look at the Top 40 in the UK. Anyway, I hope someone can try and assess all of that and send me in the right direction! Cheers :)

I'm trying to find music with an electronica/breakbeat background and a synth lead, no vocal track... That doesn't sound like a difficult request, right? Well then why am I having so much trouble locating banRAB and soundtracks that have this kind of music?

The youtube video below is a perfect example of the kind of music I'm looking for, my favorite part is at about 0:35... if you guys could tell me what genres I should be looking in or maybe name a few banRAB that compose this kind of music I'd be eternally grateful... thanks for any help!

We are opening a (hopefully) cool little cafe in Airlie Beach (Australia). We see music as being a very strong way to differentiate ourselves from all the other restaurants in town.
So far we have identified Roy Ayers, Jill Scott, Stereo MC's, Erykah Badhu and some others as being the right sound for us. We also really like the new Paolo Nutini sound and some spoken word poetry.

Can anyone throw some names at me so I can go and listen and hopefully add to our cafe catalogue.

Thanks

Dunno man I really don't like Linkin Park, I don't think I have heard any of their "Minutes to Midnight" album. Out of all NU metal all I can say that I dig are SOAD, but I am sure you have heard them so I won't recommend them to ya. All I can say is to check out maybe:

1) HELMET - "Meantime"
2) FAITH NO MORE - "Angle Dust"
3) FEAR FACTORY - "Soul of a New Machine"
4) FUDGE TUNNEL - "Hate Songs in E Minor"

thats about as close as I can go without recommending you some utter crap.

Best album by Mike Patton (in any of his banRAB) to start with? I'm loving Loathesome Pete's beginners comp he put together

Also, what are some good Zappa albums to start with after Hot Rats, which is the only one I own?

I posted first before looking at the stickies so I've got a thread up about just what you told me not to do rofl, but I was hoping it would be ok :)

Hello.
I have been making videos forever, especially World of warcraft movies, it is very important for a video to be good to have a good and solid soundtrack behind.

I have been using Blue Stahli and Celldweller stuff, which is awesome but Im running out of choises.
I need help finding groups that make music just like they do, for those who dont know them it is some sort of industrial techno/rock, a really good one.

Anything close to Blue Stahli and Celldweller is welcome.

Hi guys,
can you recommend me good singers/guitarists that sound like John Mayer or Jason Mraz?
Looking for laid back, easy strumming types, with a touch of jazz here and there.

Or maybe something like Johnathan Rice or Tyler Hilton.
Thanks in advance!
