HEY NOOBS! Want a band or song recommendation? Don't start a new thread post here

Hi laRAB:)
I need a help I am looking for the show that was on mtv base I think about 5 or 6 ago it was about normal people (fans:) who for one day become their favourite music star and play in one of their videos. They are getting make up clothes and everything is exactly the same as in their favourite music star video. I remeraber one girl who played Janet Jackson in her Someone to call mu lover video! Please help I really want to find what show was that THANKS:)

That is actually some really good stuff!

To clarify though just in case. I was trying to get the names of some banRAB that are all good musicians that are younger banRAB, with some possible bluesy type vocals in the style of Eric Burdon & Jim Morrison if possible.

Thank you for showing me this though, will check him out more.

Where do I start?

Well there are a few obvious ones, you know AC/DC, Black Sabbath and Ozzy, Guns 'N Roses, Queen etc. etc., but I'm going to assume you know all of those.

Have you heard of Bang Camaro? They are a recent hair metal band (yes, someone's still making that) with like, 20 singers.

Also, even though they don't fit into this genre, Nikki Sixx, Motley Crue's bassist (so I guess there's a bit of an 80's LA **** rock backround), founded Sixx A.M., and made music to soundtrack his book The Heroin Diaries. Plus, I can kind of see how it corespondents to Green Day, who you mentioned... execpt they're actually good. Amazing at that.

I know I mentioned Guns 'N Roses earlier, and I you know them, but what you don't know is that some stuff by their former rhythm guitarist, Izzy Stradlin, almost compares to GNR themselves.

There's a lot of stuff that fits under this urabrella. First of all (and so obviously, I can't believe I'm posting it), Dream Theater is hugely inspired by both of those banRAB.

Anyways, I hope this helps.

Hey guys, new here. Registered to pick all your brains and see if you can suggest some banRAB / albums / songs that exhibit a similar sound to LP's Minutes to Midnight album. Didn't like it at first, as is common, then started loving it and now I don't know where to find more. Help!

Hi guys,

I am hoping that you can help me, I am looking for some songs that have lots of changes in rythm in quite a short period of time, if possible without lyrics.
(Not for a film, but I fly aerobatics competitively and need songs to fly to)

I would love a song similar in rythem to the first or last song in this clip:

Many thanks for your help and ideas!

Thanks for the suggestions. I picked up F#A# today and it's perfect for the mood. "East Hastings" is pretty much exactly what I had in mind when I was looking for music, so thanks again.

Now that my monthly compilation selection has been revealed, I can safely (and highly) recommend Eight Frozen Modules also.

"Listening to 8 Frozen Modules is the aural equivalent of removing one's brain, slicing it very finely, and reinserting in random order", as stated on 8FM's last.fm profile. I've always considered his sound equal parts Venetian Snares, Autechre and Aphex Twin.

Oh and there's also the Hollywood Brats who's biggest claim to fame was that they were doing exactly what the New York Dolls were doing before they were, but they didn't release their debut album until 1980

GoRABpeed You! Black Emperor would be great

Other post rock:
65daysofstatic
Mogwai
God is an Astronaut
Explosions in the Sky

Good place to start. it seems like you would like the genre.
