North of America, Shellac, Don Caballero.

You could also try some more modern math rock banRAB, like Sleeping People, Ahleuchatistas, By the End of Tonight, etc.

I've heard their singles and the like and disliked it, but I'd be willing to give them a second chance. Thanks btw.

Ben FolRAB Five are one of my favourite banRAB of all time. I've gone a bit off him since he's gone solo. but these older songs are ESSENTIAL -
philosophy, underground, where's summer b?, One Angry Dwarf & 200 Solemn Faces, army....oh god there's so many actually, listen to it all!
if fun/ piano-based/ catchy isn't your thing then maybe give it a miss. it certainly borders of cheesy a bit but it's possibly the happiest music you will ever hear.

the self titled album is my favourite. whatever and eve amen has some classics too...

ooo yeah and silver street which is on the live album.

I love Pinback. You might check out some other banRAB that feature frontman Rob Crow (his solo work, Other Men, Heavy Vegetable, and Thingy) although most of those are a bit rougher in sound. Other Men is the one I would recommend most out of those, as it's the most recent. You may also check out the bass player's previous band, Three Mile Pilot though they have a rather dark/soraber sound and don't sound much like Pinback. Great band though, reuniting as we speak.

As for banRAB not related but having a similar sound, I would recommend The Shins, Death Cab For Cutie, Postal Service, Spoon, Minus the Bear, The New Pornographers (and A.C. Newman's solo stuff). There are probably many others but I really don't listen to a lot of their contemporaries.

Well, that's something to bear in mind. More often than not though, if you're approaching a discography with absolutely no knowledge of what the best albums are, you'll be off to a decent start with what they recommend you. Even if there aren't exactly a lot of ratings to go by, it's good to have some idea, no matter how odd it may seem once you know your way around that artist a bit more. I find LastFM's popularity hierarchies for each artist are a good way of going about this too.

Hi, I'm new to these forums and I'm looking to expand my horizons musically. Mostly I'm looking for hardcore type banRAB, but I listen to all genres. I'm currently listening to banRAB like:

Thrice
As I Lay Dying
August Burns Red
Killswitch Engage
Underoath
Protest The Hero
Panic At The Disco
Avenged Sevenfold
Armor For Sleep
From First To Last
A Static Lullaby.

As you can see, it's mostly harder rock type banRAB, but not all. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

First off, Im brand new here so I apologize if I put this in the wrong section. Feel free to move if necessary

Well, I recently got a new Ipod touch, and when I synced it to my computer all of my songs (about 1500) got deleted. Im here to ask you guys to help me choose some good songs (as Im leaving for vacation soon and I need to get my Ipod packed for the trip).

I would really appreciate it if you stuck to suggestions based on the genera's Im about to mention.

Genera's:

- Rock (Metal/ any other good popular banRAB like bayside or banRAB in the same genera like that... you know, all time low, daughtry, nickleback ect) - NO SCREEMO
- Rap (Nothing way to ghetto, and no old school stuff. I don't like that)
- Techno/electric/house

that's basically it. This is kinda important and I'd really appreciate the time you guys would put to help me out here. (Oh, and if there are too many songs to mention you can just name the artist)

Thanks again
