Welcome, you guys. I'm so glad you enjoyed the movie.

missingOTH, added you. :)

Yeah, I have vid linked to in our OP. :) I think it's hilarious! Justin sliding down the wall is my favorite. I about died. :lmao:

The movie opens here on Wednesday. :sigh: I'm planning to watch it on Friday after work. :)

I just saw this movie and I loved it. Alex/Gigi were my fave couple and I just loved it when he said "You're my exception" and I also loved Neil/Beth and the scene when he showed up at her parents house and was cleaning up and then the scene on the boat and the proposal:in_love:. Can I be added to the list please:flowers:?

ETA: Oh have you guys seen this vid? Justin Long, Bradley Cooper, and Kevin Conolly are in and they're hilarious:lmao:. He's Just Not That Into You - 10 Chick Flick Cliches You Won't Find

I totally will. ;) Just texted her to ask if she's watched it yet.

EDIT: She did. I'm texting her right now: "Did you like it? Who was your favourite IF YOU DON'T SAY ALEX AND GIGI I WILL SMITE YOU couple? :)"

I saw this movie today and fell in love with it. The ultimate chick flick, which I love. I have to agree with the majority that Alex and Gigi and Beth and Neil were my favorites. Some of the lines at the end had me swooning. I can't wait to see it again.

Melinator, Alex/Gigi were played by Justin Long/Ginnifer Goodwin and Neil/Beth were played by Ben Affleck/Jennifer Aniston. Back when I was waiting to see this, I didn't think the Ben/Jen pairing was a good one; I just couldn't see those two together. But man, they proved me wrong; they were amazing in this together. Ben just steals your heart, so you can see why he stole hers. :sigh:

I cried when...

[sp]Beth turned around to see Neil had cleaned up the kitchen. Omg, that killed me! :sigh: No one else was helping her, but then he just shows up after she'd broken up with him.....and then their scene on his boat when she let him know that he was enough for her. But the ending...I knew there was gonna be a ring in the pocket, but when she turned around to see him already kneeling right there - that was so sweet. The proposal/wedding was sweet, but I would have been satisfied with their boat moment as their happy ending. I guess 'cause I felt a lot of the same way he initially felt about marriage...so the ending was kind of a cop-out for me. That's what I meant by it got a bit cliched at the end. But I still enjoyed it overall.

As for Alex/Gigi....I cried when she opened her door to see him standing there, pretty much that entire scene killed me! 'You're my exception.' :sigh: But they had so many 'awww!' moments for me, it's not even funny![/sp]

As sweet as the NB proposal was, I would've been happier had they just left it the way he was on the boat. Well, maybe showed them again, living all happily, but I didn't need the marriage. I've never been one who saw marriage as the final answer in a relationship. I'm with you, it is possible to just be madly in love with someone for the rest of your life, without actually having to get married.

Mel, I'm glad you got to see it! :D

FYI - Jennifer Aniston, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Drew Barrymore are on the March cover of Marie Claire. They look gorgeous, of course, and it's a really cool interview.

From the Marie Claire site

Their moment seriously owned.

I loved Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know' playing during that ending Alex/Gigi moment. :sigh:

Saw this last night and I absolutely ADORED it. It was so cute. Ginnifer Goodwin is the most adorable person ever. I love her in Big Love and she was great in this as well.

Saw this movie last night and I absolutely loved it  It was the definition of a chick flick, like literally - this defines what a chick flick is. The audience was so great, they made the movie more fun hearing everyone's reactions. Laughing, getting excited, or shocked or pissed - so great. I made a lot of weird noises during the movie :lmao:

My favorite couple was Beth and Neil, seriously adored them. Ben Affleck is one of the cutest men alive so all of his scenes made me excited :sigh: And he was such a sweet guy - I won't say much due to spoilers, but these two were such love. And I totally called their last scene to the nail.

Gigi and Alex were so cute aswell, their very good scenes were sooooo amazing. You guys probably know what I am talking about. I teared up during that scene. I also teared up for the majority of Neil and Beth scenes too. I just felt Gigi was soooo ....oblvious and you just wanted to tell her to the shutup. But she had such a good heart. Same with Janine, she did some crazy things in that movie but at the end of it you couldnt help but love her.

'I just got hard - one of the best lines!

And Ben was such a jackass.

Hey guys, nice to see you in here. Would you like to be added to the list in here, as well? :)

I agree about Ben; he was lookin' so HOT in this movie!

Wow, going for 4x; lucky you.

Carrie, it's nice to see you in here. Would you like to be added to the list? :)

Aw I loved this movie   The beginning cracked me up, all the excuses that women all over the world come up with as to why men haven't called just not to admit that he's just not into them :rotfl: :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Gigi's character may be annoying at a lot of times for being so naive, but I loved it that, in the end, she was just someone looking for something great, looking for the best in people. he was someone full of love to give and who just wanted to be able to share that with the right person, who would love her the same way too. That's what the story was about, to me. We all know love is something wonderful, that's why we spend our lives looking for it, and every time there's a chance of it happening, we hope it's finally the right person, the right moment. She's not wrong for expecting the best of men, and she's not wrong for wanting something great to happen for her. That scene where she fights with Alex (before he realizes he's in love with her too), showed exactly this. Maybe she had her heart broken a lot of times, but at least she felt things, at least she took a chance. I could relate a lot to everything she said to him, that was definitely one of my favorite scenes in the movie, and the most important (regarding her character and all the build up to that moment) to me. I totally shipped them :D :love::love: And the end, "You're my exception", awwwwwwwwwwww :in_love::in_love::in_love::in_love::in_love:

The story I liked the least was the married couple, that guy was just disgusting

I loved the Neil/Beth relationship too  I loved what they showed with that couple, because it's something that a lot of couples go through. I've seen so many people say things like "We've been together for 7 years, it gets to a point where either you get married or you break up", and that always gets me thinking "uh, why not just enjoy the relationship as it is, why is that not an option?", you know? You don't need to have a wedding to have a real relationship, that's not the most important thing. She was worried about a detail, something that was important to her, yes, but to which he was just not ready. But being apart was good, for both of them. For her, because she realized what a wonderful relationship she'd be throwing away for something so silly (in comparison); and for him, because even if a wedding wasn't essential for him, he wanted it too, even more so because it was meant so much to her. The proposal was love, awwwwwwwwwwwwww :in_love::in_love::in_love::in_love::in_love:
