I have a bazooka subwoofer with a built in amp that can be wired in with the stock speaker and then wired to a 12v source. Unfortunately I did not put a fuse on the power wire and I think it was to small. When I got it all hooked up and turned the key on the wire started burning until all the rubber coating was burned off. Does anyone have any idea why I almost burned my car up because of a power wire? Is it possible that the wire was just not meant to carry that amount of power through it? What reasons would cause a wire to melt like that? I've hooked up amps before and I have never had a wire melt like that.
