Help with Speakers, Dj's or people that know speakers and stereos?

Ok, i want to get some speakers for when i have parties. i don't want to spend a ton of money. I have found some speakers that are a pair and have 15 inch woofers. They have 700 Watts RMS per pair & 1400 Watts Max per pair And the Sensitivity is 94db with 25-30,000 Hz Frequency Response

It requires an amp. ( I heard i should get an amp that is 3 times the RMS watts; is that true or should i get more watts or less for the amps).

Do the speakers have enough watts to make me feel the bass? (like a concert) or is it not enough. i want to know what to expect so i know exactly what i am getting.

Also, they are 3 way speakers... what does that mean?

My last question is, what do i hook them up to? how many watts would the stereo have to be or what ever to get the full effect. (i doubt an Emerson stereo that cost 100 dollars at kmart would work) If you find anything i could connect an ipod to or stereo and connect my ipod to that, could you tell me? thanks
p.s. sorry for all the questions
it says the amp can produce no less than 300 watts max at 8ohm. so if i got more then 300 say... 1000, is that good enough or would 2100 watts be worth it? thanks again

Unless they have an amp built into them, speakers don't actually "have" watts. what you are referring to is the ability to handle power output from an amp. Actually it's just as easy to blow-up your speakers with too little power as with too much.
If these specs are accurate (consumer specs usually aren't), these speakers should pretty much rock the house with a good amp.
94 db Sensitivity is pretty good, this means that they play loud with a smaller amp.
If you got a real 1000 watt per channel amp (or better yet, one for each channel) (pretty pricey) you should be able to shatter glassware and small bones in your body with that 30,000 Hz. and probably damage walls and windows in your house.
If you want serious BOMP tho, you will need decent amp power, but 200 - 300 watts per channel should be plenty for the average house party of oh, say 50 or 60 peeps. You should be able to buy a receiver with this kind of power off eBay for $200-$300
The 100 buck Emerson stereo would actually work but if you played it very loud you'd blow something up and it would sound crappy.
3-way means that these speaks are great for kinky...oh wait, wrong forum... these speaker boxes should have 3 speaker drivers in them one each for bass, midrange - like vocals and such, and treble, the aforemetioned 30,000 Hz - like cymbals and the sound of breaking glass...
hope this helps
