We got the Pioneer Premium Audio system, but it's just not cutting it in the clarity and bass departments. I'm not looking for a system that costs $2000, but something with decent bass, mids, and highs... a sub, an amp, etc. I'm looking for good quality sound, not just LOUD sound.

I think the best bang for your buck is going to be a Kenwood system, Kenwood has really clean amps, but If you want to spend a little more money then I would go with Alpine...Alpine is hard to beat at any price.

i had a scion tC. i went with a pioneer avic D3 head unit-which is discontinued, w7 speakers and a 1500 watt amp. the scions stock speakers are good for mids and highs. unless youre going for like sound competition grade. the scions were made for this kind of thing.i say stick with pioneer bc thats what scion uses and everything goes together rather easily. you can get good quality, appreciated sound quality and a good price at wal mart...yea, i said it. wal mart now carries mid range pioneer stuff. anything in the red and i think white? boxes is good stuff. they have a doubled den head unit, and i think a 500 or 700 watt amp and a sub in a box. the xb's specifically were made for sound. thats why theyre a box shape. so they can deflect and move the sound waves. a new head unit and a sub will change the world in that car. like i said, the stock door speakers will sound so much better with a decent grade head unit. if youre going to splurge a bit, id spend the majority of this on the head unit. good luck man. and everything installs so easily. the door panels come off easily, the panels and everything. do it all your self.. take your time, and you have so much more pride in the job
