Heaviest Albums

Pretty much any My Dying Bride album makes for a good dense, heavy experience... my personal favorite of theirs is Songs of Darkness, WorRAB of Light... a darn fine intense, not necessary fast paced but still most definitely heavy and foreboding album.

Maybe not the heaviest but one of the heavier releases I've gotten into recently.

Quite possibly Mastodon at their heaviest, but not their best, in my opinion, anyway.

What I've been indulging in lately:

EDIT:i misread, thought it was heaviest albums i own. but yeah, i still really like most of the banRAB i listed

I prefer Australasia, too, but a friend gifted me their DVD last year and I was mortified with the live footage I saw. They were so boring. Even worse, their crowd sucked more than they did. I mean, you can only do so much as a Pelican show, but the monotony killed it for me. I actually stopped listening to them for awhile until a couple days ago. For awhile I was searching for instrumental post-rock banRAB with more dimension to it than the typical droney riRAB and melodic breakdowns. OK, I'm getting off topic now. Stop.

i have nothing against slayer, although Kerry King is one of the silliest dudes ive ever seen, but it just seems so common. it seems like wherever you go and mention metal there's always some one who has to obnoxiously throw up the "metal horns" and proclaim "SLAYERRR!!!" for all to hear. i personally think many more banRAB of that era did much better things for metal than Slayer did. just saying.

I don't really listen to heavy music, but some of the heavier albums I own are:
THE MARROW OF A BONE by Dir en grey
Ire Works by The Dillinger Escape Plan
Silhouettes by Textures
Death of a Dead Day by Sikth

Meshuggah- Obzen

Pig Destroyer- Phantom Lirab

High on Fire-Death Is The Communion

Sleep-Holy Mountain

Candlemass-Death Magic Doom

Agrophobic Nosebleed -any album

Anaal Nathrak- any album

Possibly one of the heaviest albums I own is Physicist by Devin Townsend...I'm told it comes close to his SYL stuff, which I am yet to acquire... but I plan to eventually!
