I don't listen to that much heavy metal anymore, but this is the heaviest I've heard. I suppose I should get onto listening to more of what's out there.

Meeee. I think i may have asked in another thread a while back but it probably got buried under loaRAB of posts while you were offline.

I don't know what happened to my Grails stuff. I know i had one and listened to it and i had this one downloaded on my list to listen to but they dont seem to be on my hard drive anywhere.

perhaps im being unfair.
but in my opinion, Slayer just isn't all they are cracked up to be. they way some people portray them just bothers me, and perhaps i have spoken with the wrong Slayer fans, but from what i can tell, if it weren't for Slayer then thrash or heavy metal would simply not worth listening to.

Anaal Nathrakh - Codex Necro

The other great thing about the band is that they look like they could work at IBM

You could actually argue that its one of the very best doubles ever for its consistency, because when you compare it to the competition "The White Album" "Physical Graffiti" and "Electric Ladyland" etc All of these albums had their low points and experimental parts and at times this detracted from the brilliance of the album`s high points.

i'm pretty solidly convinced that it's not going to get any heavier than the breakdown in the middle of Wheels of Confusion:

Bolt Thrower (Realms of Chaos) usually put out some really heavy stuff. Immolation (Close to a World Below), Brutal Truth (Extreme Conditions...), Nile (Annihilation of the Wicked), IMO some of the best heavy-weights of all time. Dark Angel (Darkness DescenRAB) , Morbid Saint (Spectrum of Death) and Massacra (Enjoy the Violence) were good heavy thrashers. Finally, "Nothing" Messhuggah.
