There are a ton of moments in The Fellowship of the Ring that are soo sad, like Gandalf and Boromir's deaths, but the worst for me is when Pippin and Merry get captured for Frodo's sake. I bawl every time, and it's my favorite moment for both of the characters.

My Girl - When Harry, had to tell Vada, that Thomas J. had passed away and when Vada walked up to his casket and asked if he wanted to go tree climbing.. OMG, I can cry thinking about it. That girl deserved an oscar, for that scene alone. it just tore my heart up.

The Man In The Moon - I cry on several part's of this moive, but when Dani see's Court, lying on the ground covered in blood after being run over by the tractor and runs screaming into ther dad's arms and then when Maureen breaks down in the house and at Court's grave and Dani grabs her head into her lap. I also cry when Dani explains to her dad about taking the belt to her, that she wasn't mad at him and he breaks down and pulls her out the truck and hugs her forever. :bawl:

Titanic - When the woman tucks her kids into bed, cause she knows they aren't getting out alive.

Beaches I thin,k I cry, the whole entire, last half hour of the film.

Pay It Forward - The ending kills me everytime.

Across The Universe - The "Let It Be" Scene, the whole thing, made me bawl..

Big Daddy - When the guy is arguing with Sonny, after he finds out that he had been lying and Julian hears them, the way he says Sonny's name, Oh man, then when he dosen't want to go.

The Orphanage - [sp]When she finally finds Simón and realizes he's dead and kills herself and all the kids begin to surround her and she reads to them. I cried..[/sp]

The Lion King, most definitely

Actually, any movie where animals die, be it animated or not  Some examples..Old Yeller, Bambi,March of the Penguins, even PJ's King Kong, when he falls off the building  There are many more. Its to the point where I skip scenes if I think the animal os going to die.

One in particular is The Neverending Story..where the horse, Artax, dies in the Swamp of Sadness. I remember bawling my eyes out

i'm such a softy... glad to find this thread...
A lot of coincidences...

the kissing montage is heartbreaking!

great expectations - when Ethan Hawke puts anne bankroft hand in his chest and says: "this is my heart and its broken"
shakespeare in love - the last conversation bw ralph finnes and Gwyneth and he says "you want die for me...etc..."
The big fish - the end
Moulin Rouge

I can keep going. Enough for today

The 6th Man-Where Marlon Wayans character finding out that his brother died. I cry everytime I see that. :(

Ah, that scene... true, very sad.. :(

Another sad movie moment.. in Armageddon..

YouTube - Armageddon Sad Scene

It has me bawling every time.

House of Wax (remake)-Wade's tear, when he melts into the wax with the house

Sweeney Todd-the ending....Damn you TOBY!! it was so sad when he died

Four Brothers-when Jack dies

Saw 4-when Eric (Donnie Wahlberg) dies...the ice comes down and smashes his head

Harry Potter 5when sirius dies-so sad!

I've cried my eyes out in all of this. With Forrest Gump, I cry the hardest when Jenny tells Forrest and Forrest Jr. and he asks if he's smart. O.M.G. Total tear fest.

The Shawshank Redemption, yeah, that's one of the most tragic and saddest moments from any movie I've seen. :( He tried so hard to stay inside and they sent him out to die alone. :(

That was awful! I cried for weeks.

Steel Magnolias when Shelby dies and the baby is screaming, and Sally Field is reading her a magazine. Ugh.

Crash had a ton of backlash after the awards season...but I agree---that scene with the daughter is very lovely.

Nuovo Cinema Paradiso The kissing montage at the end gets me every time!

The English Patient I always cry at the end where he arrives back at the cave, too late to save Katherine.

Crash when the guy shoots at the hispanic guy and his daughter jumps in front of him. All of their facial expressions killed me in that scene. And also the car crash scene when the police guy is trying to help the lady out of the car but she's too scared of him and refuses to let him touch her, and then later in that scene where they start dragging him out of the wreckage and he crawls back in to get her out.

I just bought My Girl, based upon this thread (and my love of little Macaulay Culkin - Home Alone :yay:) and I have NEVER cried so much for a film in such a long time. I hate you all

Ugh, boo that sucks. It must not be able to embed.

This is the link YouTube - Could Mountain Scene- Inman talking about going back to Ada.

it's the scene when he's being taken care of by the goat lady and he finally breaks down and opens up. It goes:

"How can a name. Not even a real name...break your heart? It's her. She's the place I'm headin'. And I hardly know. I hardly know her."

:bawl:

I also love the end when he tells her by the campfire that he thinks he's ruined. And also when he finally comes back and she doesn't recognize him, so he just turns back to go back from where he just came even though his only goal was to get home to her and in an instant he'd thought it was all futile. The look on his face when he turns around to leave kills me so much.
