Head unit installation 10 points!!~~~~~~~~~~?

When i installed my new headunit (alpine pda ) to replace a sony explode one i had....for some reason it wont turn on...then when i wire the remote wire to the ignition......but shuts off when i get to a certain volume(10 which is barely noticable) is their wires your suppose to cross???? like constant with ignition or something??? because i had all the colors matched..and it wouldnt turn on...now when i crossed remote with igntion it works???
 
as long as you have the correct wiring harness for the car it shouldnt be an issue, although sometimes the colors dont always match, (esspically on the 2 power wires, constant and ignition) double check your connections make sure the wires from the radio are matched to the description on the harness, dont just match the color. the remote wire shouldnt be connected to the ignition, thats there if you have an external amplifier that you want to come on with the radio, if you dont have an amp, just tape up the end of the remote wire...if you do have an amp then run a seperate wire back to the amplifer itself. if the car has a factory amp and thats what you are using then hook up the remote wire to the wiring harness. sorry this is a little confusing but i hope it helps...if you have any questions feel free to email me
