Having car audio problems.?

Recently had some "experts" install an entire stereo system in my car. I know a good deal about car audio but this one has me confused. I bought a 4 channel amp to handle my 6.5" alpines but I already had the subwoofer amp and subwoofer. The "experts" told me they blew my amp while installing it and since I signed a waiver I was out an amp. The amp is not blown but this is what it does. When I try to hook up the sub rca's I get massive amounts of noise (with the sub rca's not even on on the deck). So I hooked up a laptop to the amp to check it and it worked fine no problems. So I assume it's the decks sub outs and go to use the pass through on the alpine 4 channel just to have some bass until I can exchange the deck. Well I get a loud constant hum from doing that. I'm sure the sub amp can handle a 3 volt input but now I'm not sure. I hooked the rca's up to another source to make sure they weren't faulty and they were fine. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this problem?
