Harry Potter

Memory's can be altered as shown by Slughorn in book 6, Dumbledore said Slughorn modifications had been rather crude. So it would not have been impossible to simply modify Harry's memory to lie.

Loved it! Went last night and it was the mega screen and it was absolutely packed! Im amazed though at how many people cant seem to put off going to the toilet for half an hour! So distracting.

I went to see the film today and i thought it was excellent.

The only problem was people kept on going in and out. there was hardly a time when everybody was still, as soon as some people came back more people went. That annoyed me

I wish Hermione had been in longer.

Did they actually sit their OWLS?

I would have liked to see more abut the Department of Mysteries, it was arguably the best bit of Book 5 IMO.

Umbridge was very well acted, she really, really p*ssed me off, so props to her.

I saw the "special effects" Imax version in Hong Kong last night. The effects were great - wind, rain, snow, smoke and fireworks smell during the fireworks scene. But as someone who has seen the first three movies quite some time ago, it was difficult to tell what was going on. But that's how they make sequels these days, right? You have to have watched the previous ones and know them intimately to understand the new film......

I went to see the film yesturday and I must admit it was a bigger improvement from TGOF. I was thoroughly impressed by the acting of Imelda Staunton, she was how I imagined what Umbridge would be like, if not better. I thought Luna Lovegood would actually look more like Moaning Myrtle so I was dissapointed with that character. Shame Dame Maggie Smith wasn't in it for much as she is by far my favourite in all of the films.

On reading the Sun's review of it though (:o )..

"In making the shortest Potter film yet, from the longest novel, he (David Yates) didn’t always cut the right parts from the book. And the key character who dies near the end is so underused that their passing had no emotional impact. In the book this was a deeply moving moment. Instead the film concentrates, as usual, on Hogwarts School."

I have to agree (:o ) The death didn't really stir any emotion for me in the film. It didn't focus on the Order much at all (Even though the film is called "The Order Of The Pheonix"!!) I've read the book a few times now and even I couldn't keep up with the pace of the film  . They kept using things which happened towarRAB the end of the book at the beginning and vice-versa. I would of also loved to of seen a St. Mungo's scene as the scene with Neville & Harry in the Room Of Requirement was a little.. bad handled?!

However, the thing that won it over me was the visual effects. The fight at the end was truely amazing and it made the hairs on the back of my head stand up. I loved all the scenes that were filmed in the Ministry Of Magic.

Overall, it was a great film although I would of made it longer to fit in vital scenes which did not feature in the film. Although better than The Goblet Of Fire it wasn't as good as the Prisoner Of Azkaban.

I saw the film today and was blown away. By far the best HP film, the action scenes, the kiss, the speaking, all of it was amazing. I loved it was close to the book and in parts actually used word for word from the book.
I thought this was the best director, in the way was filmed and I loved the previews of the Daily Prophet throughout, thought it added to the atmosphere.
What I also liked was that all the things we were expecting from the first 4, the sorting hat and the introductions of the first years, plus loaRAB of lessons and the bullies (malfoy etc...) but there was either none or a lot less than normal which lead to the storyline being pushed through a lot more.
I came out amazed, surely the best summer film so far and I think at all this summer. I am defiantly pre ordering this dvd!!!

About the book: I have heard about a leak, therefore I am not looking at any HP sites or searches until I have read the book. I am not even going onto the internet or prob t.v till I have finished, I don't want to know anything!

P.S Thanks Blah for reminding me- Luna was amazing, a brilliant character and wonderfully acted!

They didn't explain it with too much detail, did they!?

I was ok, having read the book, but it would have been so easy not to have a clue about it. Plus I don't remember that actual part happening in the book!

Going to see it tomorrow at 4:20, v excited!!! It was released in Japan ages ago... I really don't understand why Warner Bros decided to do that.

ps didn't really think that this was worth a new thread but I heard a rumour that Emma Watson will be going to Hills Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge, and was just wondering if anyone knew whether this was true??

i thought the same but see it at least four more times:) :)

the duel at the end was fantastic awesome cool wicked.

pity its the shortest film of the lot they could have done so much more with a meagre 20 more minutes maybe we will see it ib dvdextras?
