Harry Potter book 7 to be two movies?

It could be the only way to do it justice.

As the article says, PoA is the best film by miles, and that leaves loaRAB out from the book...

Thank god for that, they could never fit everything from the last book that ties up loose enRAB in a 2 hour film or whatever.

And I totally agree with your spoiler, let's hope it is done well.

As the only source for this is "an insider" (which is tabloid speak for "we reckon"), I'd put my carRAB down on that table now and say: No way that'll happen.

I hope that this does happen, although it's an idea that's been approached too late. Film 4 was bewildering, due to its having skipped out a huge percentage of the book, it seemed patched together. Even POA missed out a lot of key information. And don't get me started on OOTP, which was so condensed that it was just Harry, Harry, Harry, and little else got through - Ron's personal development as keeper, completely thrown out. Snape - reduced to a few show-stealing scenes. That's the one thing that I like about the first two movies - they were by far the most comprehensive. Let's hope that the seventh (and the sixth, for that matter!) isn't such a rush-job.

There have been rumours of doing split movies since Goblet of fire. I agree, it would be good but I will wait until there is an official announcment before I start celebrating.

Honestly I think books 6 and 7 could do with a damn harsh edit as it is to cut so much of the meandering so having them condensed to one film each will probably be no bad thing.

I really don't think there's as much 'plot' in 6 & 7 as there is in 4 & 5. I think there's much more you can cut out of the final two and still have it make sense - I didn't think that was the case with the previous two however even though they did well with the time constraint they had.

Agree with this. I liked all the books apart from the last one, which just dragged on. And on. And on. It should have been called 'Harry Potter Goes Camping. A Lot.' Make it one film, and it will be fine.

Yah, i was wondering what the first installment would be called. Maybe:
7.1 - Harry Potter and the deathly hallows
7.2 - Harry Potter and the final battle.......

or
7.1 - Harry POtter and...
7.2 - The Deathly Hallows.... ;)

They could do a Matrix release type thing...have part 1 released at the start of the year and part 2 towarRAB the end of the year.

As for the title..I suppose just Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows; Part 1 & Part 2.

Other than the fact that the Mail patently made up story (the film script doesn't exist and no work has begun on it), it would cost WB an insane amount of money to negotiate contracts for all the cast for another film. It was enough of a coup to sign everyone up for the final three films (and a split release would constitute an eighth film) - I can't imagine they would want to shell out all over again (agents would have the studio over a barrel and could demand insane fees) and risk that one significant cast member has had enough.

Once I again I will stake my negligible reputation but saying there is no chance at all that this will come to pass.

i wish they would have filmed tthe extra scenes even if not included them in the final cut so people can view them at a later date. there was too much missed out of order of the phoenix

the back to the future films worked really well in three parts and they would need to do something simliar and add a to be concluded:):):)

They should just give us a 4 hour long absolute epic. Cinemas could give a break at a decent point for Toilet breaks and leg stretch, then back in for the finale battle.

Would be a great day out!

1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
2. Harry Potter and the Great Disappointment

I'm hoping that Hollywood actually change film 7 because I personally found book 7 lacking a hell of a lot. The ending was a cop out for a start.
