No I ment that I thought it was clever the way they did it. Like you'd see them turning round and it would acually be them instead of someone dressed as them.

I thought the bit with Sirius, Peter, Lupin and the kiRAB in the celler should have been longer. Can't wait for the DVD!

And Emma Watson was as sexy as ever (don't worry, I'm not a perv, I'm the right age for her!)! :D She had more of a part this time, unlike the last film where she was in the hospital wing most of the time. They were alot more comforting to each other this time. It was so sweet when they had a group hug when Buckbeak was killed!
 
You're right I though the hall looked a lot smaller. The womping willow was also a lot smaller and in a different place. They did change a lot of the story in places, such as the whole thing with Harry's firebolt, he got it at christmas and had it taken away as they thought it may be booby trapped. but in the film he gets it right at the end.
 
No. But things always seem to go wrong in the cinema when HP's on! Like I went to see HP2 and the sound was off for the first few minutes (in my local VUE (that's weird new name!)). I also saw it in Odeon where the screen went black when the car came up to Harry's window in the Dursley's house. Weird!
 
Nope - it's officially only 'previewing' from Monday because of the dreaded half-term (dreaded because the uni students who work at the cinemas will be forced to work six shifts when they don't have half-term and do have exams! - it happens!), but all the cinemas are advertising it as out from Monday so I think Warner Bros. conceded defeat and agreed to publicise it as released from Monday. :)
 
Flyring Nelly I mean the head hangy thing. Its alright, I just though he was Stan Shunpike. Not sure what he WAS though.

gottago, if you liked the back in time thing, I recommend Back to the Future as the second part is like that, revisiting where he'd already been!




Yes, they never gave any explanation to how he escaped and how he knew it was peter, even though they showed the eygypt pic briefly.
 
I found out about the IMAX thing, it's 35mm converted to IMAX same as the matrix and apollo 13.

IMAX screen and IMAX sound, I can't wait (but I have to because they havn't released it in IMAX yet)
 
I wasn't at all impressed.
It was very rushed and didn't flow very smoothly. Most of the teachers got six worRAB or less to say and Hogsmede wasn't explored very much. So much was left out of the book.
I did think buckbeak was good, just how I pictured him.
 
Hmmmmm....... I do agree with your comments Arwen but I still really enjoyed the movie. However, only enough to wait for DVD (Im a multitimer at the cinema usually)
 
I reckon the next one (Goblet Of Fire) will be even better!

Specaly with the tri-wizard tournament, the quidcih world cup and other things!

However, Azkabahn will be the best of the three so far!
 
I took my niece to to see the film yesterday and we both really enjoyed it. The audience I was in also clapped when Hermione smacked Malfoy one and there were also quiet a few laugh out loud moments which I was pleasantly surprised with. A hell of a lot better than the first two.
 
Oooh I'll tell you what I did enjoy at the cinema, and that was Van Helsing!
HP was enjoyable I agree, it's nice to see the books brought to life.
 
I've always preferred the Prisoner of Azkaban as a book - it took me really long time to learn the like the Goblet of Fire... so I don't know. Maybe the Triwizard Tournament leaRAB the overdoing the action elements which have irritated me in the earlier two films. I mean, there have been those sequences which remind me of Home Alone - one bang is never enough, you'll need at least three. The sequence is which that dodgy Bludger is after Harry in Chamber of Secrets is a perfect example.

And if magic was as loud and flashy as the films make out, there's no way the magic world could have remained hidden from the Muggles over the centuries.

But anyway, I entertain some hopes that the Prisoner of Azkaban is somewhat better than the earlier two - bleaker and darker and less action-packed (although what I've seen about the Knight Bus gives me the shudders)

And it seems that I'll have to wait until August to see the film anyway - so I'll have a long time to find out if it's going to be any good

Sorry for the long post, I'm overhyped at the moment and got carried away
 
the prisoner of azkaban is the 2nd best book out of the 5 imo (Goblet of Fire being the first), so hopefully it'll be better than the other 2 (that wouldn't stop me watching it anyway though!). The actors are older now...so there acting should be better too.

I thought the trailer made it look quite dark and scary (to a kid at least...the dementors and stuff), so i'm def looking forward to seeing it :)
 
i went to see the film yesterday when it came out and had to wait 2 and a half hours because all the seats had sold out all day.

when i did see it though it was absolutley fantastic i cant believe just how good a film it was. all the characters had grown up and are now much better actors. i thought there were a lot of touching scenes and i cant wait for ron and hermione to get together you saw it coming in this film.

i thought it was a lot darker also but it was funny aswell, at the end it was like you wanted the film to carry on for another 2 hours it was so good. i thought it was good when they had harry crying when he thinks it was sirius who beetrayyed his parents and when hermione punched malfoy. but the best moment must have been when hermione grabbed rons hand when buckbeak scared her.

a really excellent ending when harrys face freezes then you see the map and hear harry say mischief managed. althought i would have preferred it if they had fetched the firebolt in sooner.
 
The beginning was sort and to the point. The knight bus was ok , except for that weird head thing that I beleive had the voice of Lenny Henry.

It didn't really matter that Harry had all his books rather than going into Diagon Alley (where he originall met Heromine and Ron) , and they managed to get in Mr Weasleys warning. They rushed the whole egypt thing , it was like if you blinked you would have missed it.

The train scene was good.

The start of year in the hall went went well except Michael Gambin (sp) looked like his costume (and fake beard) had come from Oxfam rather than an accredited costume designer. He needed something similar to the prevoius actor who played Dumbledore.
The bit where Hagrid stood up and knocked the table a foot forward was funny.
Dawn French calling them all plebs was rather funny after they got fed up of her soprano attempts.

The qudditch was good too.

The first lesson with Hagrid went well , nothing wrong there , the same for Lupins lesson.

Hogsmeade was destroyed , espcially him taking a lolly pop in mid air out the front door of Honeydukes , like no one will notice! The whole pub thing was changed from how it was in the book. The shreiking shack bit was quite good and stuck to the book.

Erm ... the dementor learning was ok but I guess they couldn't go over it again and again.

The whole exposing wormtail and all that went well and so did the back in time stuff.
What I don't get is in the 1st scene is that when at the Lake Harry sees a Stag , when he performs the spell you don't see it, would have been a good time for Sirius to explain the whole Padfoot,Prongs etc.
