Harry and Paul on BBC2 9:30pm Tue

These sketches are too good for a sketch show, that's the issue really.

Many could be developed into their own series or a least a one-off 90min comedy drama. Mostly those featuring Paul Whitehouse anyway.

It was marvellous to see the actor Kevin Eldon reprising his fantastic George Martin impression. It made the Beatles thing entirely worthwhile.

It's always been partly satirical, except there's more emphasis on that now, the chavs and queer sketches being typical. I love satire when it's done well and so far H & P are doing a very funny job of it. with the caricatures. Far more effective than say HIGNFY nowadays.

My thoughts exactly - tonight's 'ISYC' sketch never got off the ground.

If not then it's one hell of a loss to the show.

Agree with all the above who've said it was more hit than miss. Not on a par with the previous two series. Didn't think the Dragons' Den sketch was as good as usual either. The Beatles sketch started off well with some sharp dialogue but gragged thereafter. They've removed the audience laughter for this series which doesn't do it any favours either - it just has the effect of maiking the bad sketches seem even worse.

I'll stick with it though.

Well better then this current crop of characters used now, as this thread shows Harry and Paul are past it and nothing they've done makes anyone laugh like in years gone by!

Yes. It's the only sketch that has become seriously tedious, and it goes on for far too long.. It was amusing the first couple of times they did it, but now it's like floggng a dead horse. They should ditch it once and for all.

You see, I feel the exact opposite. For me the characters you've listed above were usually too repetitive and broadly drawn to be humorous.
