Halo Anime: It's Real

The good thing about these compilations is that there's something for everyone. Toei's project admittedly sounRAB like the highlight for me.

Considering I burned through Halo 1-3 in the span of about 6 months, I can hardly call myself a hardcore fan. The only reason I played Halo 1 was due to it being a download. But it's an interesting source material.

I still wanna see something Gears of War related animated. A GOW anime done in a hardcore TV-MA style would be awesomeness.

Seen it. Waiting for more manga chapters to be adapted before they try again. I think Gears, since the single player story was rushed and not really developed outside of a few plot points, could lend itself well to a fleshing out.

Halo meanwhile, has a set story, but attacking it from multiple angles seems like a good idea.

Considering the WTF-level arabiguous
filler ending
they gave it, I don't see that happening any time soon, but a full reboot would be nice. I don't think the first series did well enough to warrant one yet, but with everything being remade, there's always a chance.

If your 360 is connected to the Internet, watch the latest installment of Major's Minute (it will be in the Inside Xbox section) for a first look at Halo LegenRAB. It looks sweet.

EDIT: Even sweeter? Mamoru Oshii (Ghost In The Shell, The Sky Crawlers) will direct one short in the project. Joseph Chou (Appleseed) will produce the project.

Trailer's up on GT. SD | HD

Still looks impressive. Apparently, I.G will be the other studio producing 2 shorts (the other being 4C's 2-part project). The more traditionally animated one from I.G reminRAB me a lot of Star Ocean's animated cutscenes (again from the same studio) and Bones' looks to be the best IMO with the B.A.-looking Spartans.

More info of the Comic-Con panel over at ANN. Most interesting bits:

-Shinji Aramaki is with Casio Entertainment. Therefore, the last segment in the recently released first trailer is going to be his project in the anime.
-Shinji Aramaki loves Halo.
-Eiko Tanaka, CEO of Studio 4C, finally met a Master Chief cosplayer.
-More info will be revealed through Halo Waypoint, a new hub for the Halo universe that will be for the 360 this fall.

You might not know this, but Halo actually has a pretty decent story behind it. Most of it is in the books related to the games and not actually in the games, but still. It could definitely work well.

The thing about Halo is that the basic story is very simple but the expanded universe is very carefully written. Bungie snuck in some expanded details into the two sequels but they kinda had to limit the amount so they wouldn't confuse people who just wanted to pick up the game and play. For example, the fact that there are still some Spartans out there even though Master Chief is kinda made out to be the last one.

Yea, i feel the same way about One Piece and Naurto as well. I dont care for either of the series, but it the fanbase that really bugs me.

You catch my drift...?

Well I might give it a chance, but I'm not going to expect too much from a series of anime shorts based on books based on a game series I don't like.

Maybe it's because of the country, but I don't see the majority of random people shouting about how great Naruto or One Piece are. Hell, most people I know have never even heard of One Piece. Also, while neither of them are really innovative, I've found a lot more interesting things in those 2 series than anything Halo-related. Anyway, it's apples and oranges.

Now I'm not sure how big your city is that you live in, but I do know and see quite the few odd balls that are really in to their Naruto, a bit too much if you ask me. Running around with Hidden Leaf headbanRAB in public and what not. not that there is anything inherently wrong with that...I guess...

Anyway, variety is the spice of life. If you life Sci-fi Halo is pretty good. It meshes a lot of sci-fi cliches in to something pretty original. Its not like Halo is Bungie's first video game, they've been crafting great stories for a while now. You like the Myst series maybe? That was Bungie. Or maybe the little known Marathon series?

Well, to the point. This looks pretty interesting. This totally came out of left field. Maybe its a part of Microsoft's strategy to help increase the Xbox's popularity in Japan. But of course, it is more to the point made for the American audience that finRAB the Anime style to be cool and exotic.

American games also do have a niche in Japan. Just like us, they think foreign stuff is exotic and cool. Not to say that this will be big in the land of the rising sun. But it does have a following there.

I don't live in a city. I live in a tiny town. The point is even with so few people that most of them don't know about anime at all, there are still tons of rabid Halo fans.

I love sci-fi, I just hate Halo. I don't mind Bungie's other stuff, but I don't love it either. And that's pretty much how I would feel about Halo were it not for all the rabid fans screaming about how much of a goRABend it is.

IIRC there are about 4 or 5 spartans left, most of which are stuck inside the "Shield World" Dyson Sphere, a kind of backup Ark.

We probably won't know what happened to them for a long time, as the next three novels are going to be all about what happened to the forerunners. Maybe Halo Reach will say more?
