Halloween H2: Because Laurie Strode isn't safe yet

I preferred the old school Dr. Loomis over the one in Rob Zombie's film, for sure.

I agree, Michael is a classic! :nod:
 
Did anyone else not like Dr. Loomis in this movie??

I don't know, I'm just a big fan of the classic Halloween movies and this movie just seem to butcher him to the point where I was hoping he would die and I would have never thought that about the old Sam Loomis.

Other then that, some really great gory scenes! I love this version of Michael. We actually get a word out of him in the movies. lol But of course it would be "DIE!" :lol:

Ahh. I love Halloween. Michael Myers is by far one of my favorite horror/slasher villians. :nod:
 
Obviously a lot when he doesn't have any feelings for brutally murdering people because he can. He shrugs it off like a walk in the park. There's a lot of things scary about Michael whether or not it's Rob Zombie's way or any other way. Even with the back story, he freaks people out. Mysterious or not, when you see him in that mask or just staring at someone, you get chills. Maybe that's not your thing to see why or what made him so insane in the first place, but people like me, who like to know what causes people to go ape ****, love it. We like to know what makes someone tick. I don't think Rob was taking the monster's side or trying to make anyone feel bad about why he is the way he is, because numerous of people go through the same thing and come out fine in the end. I think you read to much into it and should just take it how it is, a movie, a brutal movie with disgusting deaths and a semi-loving plot.
 
A new age take on horror....are you kidding me? How does Rob Zombie's horror differ from any other slasher film in the last 25 years? His characters and dialogue are horrible like the majority of horror films. He has no-name characters showing up for the hell of it just to get killed. [sp]The guy outside the van and Laurie's friend who get killed is so stupid. What did that have to do with the story? Michael shows up randomly at the party, kills those two idiots and then ignores Laurie (who's at the same party lol) and instead treks to the Brackett's house to kill Annie? The same goes for the Rabbit in Red club scene...more faceless characters get killed for the dumbest reason. They're really not apart of the story whatsoever.[/sp]




When you give the killer a backstory (and a sympathetic one at that) it kind of ruins the danger factor. Michael was better off being mysterious but now we have the whole cliche serial killer background. It was like Zombie looked up serial killer and took all the traits....

Abusive parent? Check
Mean sibling? Check
Bullies at school? Check

The fact that NONE of these people are likeable are we really upset when Michael kills them? Hell, Michael may as well be the anti-hero Zombie's world. And then the biggest mistake he made in the remake was having Michael unmask to Laurie (repeating the dumb scene from Halloween 5) and showing her a picture of them together. He's no longer evil there. It ruins repeat viewings for the movie because you know he's not chasing her to kill her. He's nothing but a big, misunderstood brute who wants a hug from his sister. What's so scary about that?
 
Some people aren't into the blood, and reality of what can happen to people and what it looks like. It's not for everyone.
 
Seriously? Rob Zombie has a new age take on horror. I guess you should say you don't like horror.
 
WHOA! That new trailer you posted looks good. I mean I don't get the whole thing with Sheri coming back, that seems kinda LOL worthy, but it kinda reminds me of House of 1000 Corpses in a way. I am looking forward to this. I surely hope he can make up for the first one.
 
I'm a huge Rob Zombie fan. I find him so amazing and so incredibly talented. He goes way deeper than the epidermis, by far. It's twisted, scary, but really realistic, which I think we really should see. I like how we were in Michael's head. We never were in his head and understood anything in any of the old Halloweens, so it's quite refreshing to know more about Michael than we ever had. In the first one we learned more about his child hood in which the monster was created.. the second one, we're finally understanding on why he wants to kill his sister SO bad. He wanted his family back, together, where no one could judge them or hurt them. It's really twisted, but if you think about it, it makes sense, which I'm assuming Rob wanted us to understand.

just found out tonight...that "unused" trailer i posted is actually being used..it played before District 9 lol, it looks even better on the big screen
 
I am looking forward to being dragged to see this movie. My best friend is horror movie buff.

i can't wait for this. It looks so much better than his first. Although, i hope i like Laurie better in this one,...i hated Laurie in the first RZ Halloween remake.....you didn't root for her to win like you do with Jamie Lee Curtis :(


this is coming out the same day as The Final Destination, right? Looks like i'm having a double-feature night of horror :D

I left the movie theater sort of confused about how this connection started. I didn't enjoy this movie as much as I enjoyed the first film. I guess I didn't get Rob Zombie vision and why he ended the film that way.

It would have been a decent ending, if they clarified and made sense of it all.

Honestly, just thinking about it, confuses me. :lol:
 
I didn't really like the first one but I may give this one a try. It looks scary :nod:
 
I'm looking forward to it actually. The Devil's Rejects was an awesome sequel, so I am hoping for good things with this one. I think it might be better. At least I hope. LOL
